Robert’s Rules Made Simple Thursday, May 26, 2022 @ 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
We invited Susan Leahy of Robert’s Rules Made Simple back to provide NC leaders with a training focused on the skills necessary to become a more confident and skilled meeting Chair. You do not have to be a Chair to attend, but we highly recommend board and committee Chairs to take part in this training and help create healthy boards and committees.
REGISTER TO ATTEND ROBERT'S RULES MADE SIMPLE TRAINING
Remember that all board members have the ability to upgrade their parliamentarian skills by accessing the Roberts Rules of Made Simple portal made available by the Department to all Board members. Visit our website https://empowerla.org/evg/ to create an account and begin. Contact your Neighborhood Empowerment Advocate (NEA) if you have any questions.
Both training sessions will be recorded. The recordings and training presentation and materials will be made available to you after the training date on our Department’s Workshops & Training Page (https://empowerla.org/workshops-trainings/).
ELECTRIC CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE
To ensure Los Angeles County is a regional leader in convenient, reliable, affordable, and equitable access to electric vehicles, the LA County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to expand access to zero emission vehicle charging infrastructure in unincorporated communities. L.A. County is poised to draw down funds from the federal government's $7.5 billion dedicated to this effort.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PROVIDING ANOTHER ROUND OF FREE AT-HOME COVID RAPID TESTS
The White House just announced that it is providing eight more free at-home COVID rapid antigen tests for each household. The test kits will be mailed to households that request them here. This is the third round of free tests offered by the federal government. If you did not participate in one or both of the earlier rounds, you can double your order. As COVID positivity rates are rising, it is wise to keep test kits on hand, to help distinguish between allergies, colds and COVID.
