STUDENT RESEARCH & SUPPORT EVENTS
We can't wait to see the amazing projects that our students will create this year! We want to help you put those expert touches on your projects. Consider attending one of our student research and support events.
The Research Rendezvous event pairs students with experts to assist with thesis development, research suggestions, and professional advice. Students must register for a 15-minute session with an expert prior to the event. Professional librarians will also be available to point students directly towards the resources they need.
We will also be hosting mini-sessions during the event:
- 2:30-3:00: Mastering the Thesis Statement by Kayla Gabehart, NHDC Associate Director
- 3:00-3:30: Art as a Primary Source by Kristen Fong, American Museum of Western Art
- 3:30-4:00: Making Documentaries by Eric Hernandez, Associate Producer of Colorado Experience at RMPBS
- 4:00-4:30: El Movimiento & Chicano History Resources by Laura Douglas, History Colorado Center
The Makers Workshop event gives students participating in the Exhibit Category the opportunity to get advice from the professional exhibit creators at History Colorado. Please note this event is ONLY for exhibit contestants. Participants must also be prepared to either layout or construct their exhibit. This is NOT a thesis or research workshop. Some materials will be provided, but please bring anything you plan on using for your exhibit.
