Dear Family and Friends,
We’ve now calibrated back after our amazing month in Africa, and we’re excited about the next assignments! Over the last months, again and again, God has been speaking to us about our identity! Both our identity in Christ, and our value as being created for God’s pleasure. Our culture screams ‘do, acquire, have a cause’, but God says, ‘be my child, be my child, be my child!” Our DESTINY is to grow in our relationship with God, and out of that place of relationship we receive our assignments to accomplish things for the Kingdom of God. We are not what we do, we are not what we possess, we are not what we are passionate about! We are HIS CHILDREN! It seems God is speaking this around the world, and this fresh revelation has expanded for us!

AFRICA TRIP
Our Capetown, Kigali, Jinja, Amsterdam trip was one of our great highlights! We spent most of May investing in leaders, encouraging believers, and seeing new parts of Africa! We began our trip visiting our mentors and special friends, Floyd and Sally McClung in South Africa. Floyd has been fighting for his life after an infection set off life threatening medical issues including heart attacks, strokes, kidney issues and several other crises. While he seems more stable, many of his body functions have not returned, and he remains in hospital being cared for by a great staff and many family and friends. It was very special to have a few minutes beside his bed, pray, encourage, affirm, and just be there. We also had several days with a very special friend from our India days, and enjoyed the ocean, hiking, and great fellowship.
We then spent 10 days ministering at a leader’s conference in the beautiful city of Kigali, Rwanda. We were surprised at how this nation has rebounded after the genocide of 22 years ago. Sharing the speaking with two other wonderful colleagues, great brothers from our India days, we saw hearts strengthened and encouraged.
We rounded out our Africa trip with 4 days in Jinja reconnecting with Bugembe Church, where we ran our DSM last year. It is always great to be with these special people, and we know there will be more connection!
On the way home, our 10 hour layover in Amsterdam enabled us to hop in to the city and visit with many former colleagues and friends from the 80s! it was such a highlight to see so many continuing on with God and making a difference for the kingdom!

DSM
We now turn our focus to our upcoming Destiny School of Ministry beginning in less than 3 weeks! We’ve had lots of interest, but won’t really know our student group for another week or so. We have a great staff, and a great lineup of speakers. We’re finalizing on a building that we'll rent which will give us much more flexibility and definition to this new adventure. Please be praying for the details to come together quickly this week, especially for the building to be secured so we can begin the physical set up.

FAMILY
Nick and Melissa continue to grow in their marriage, working hard and making progress. We LOVE having them so close by, and we see each other several times a week! Nick, along with working full time, has gone back to school, and is doing great in working towards a BA in business administration. Melissa continues to explore new possibilities for her medical expertise to be more fully used.
Our Kim continues to enjoy living in Southern California, and we connect by phone regularly. We hope to get out there in October to celebrate her 30th birthday!
We'll also be driving to Virginia Beach for a friend's wedding followed almost immediately with a flight to Colorado in August for the wedding of our niece in Boulder (Deb will do the flowers!) This will also enable us to connect for the first time in many years with other family and friends in CO and Kansas.

We continue to be amazed at the blessing of living the life that we live, equipping, encouraging, and training God’s people to discover their destiny. Thank you for the part you have played in encouraging us, praying for us, supporting us, believing in us! We couldn’t do what we do without each of you!
