This is a brief 'birthday' newsletter for the Robin this month.

It's been a busy month of planning how to get the best for the Robin next year and for the future.

For the rest of this year, the Trust is concentrating on conservation work on the decks of the Robin, thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund's grant for urgent conservation work. We're nearly ready to start on this and will have this done by Christmas, which will be a fantastic present for the Robin's 126th year. There's a picture below of a section of the steel deck, not seen since 1978!

We're also starting to raise awareness and publicity again to help find a new sustainable future for the ship next year. This month, we've just finished running some walking tours of the Royal Docks including a tour of the Robin, so it was great to get new people interested in the ship and to see some of our long time supporters.

Matt will be giving some tours at a local event too on the 27th of September between 12 and 4, so feel free to come along and support us and the local community at this fun day.

We've also got big plans for next year. Rosie Whitney-Fish (a fantastic choreographer and dance producer and supporter of the Robin!), has been planning some events supported by the Arts Council. We had some dancers on a fun day with some families this month (see the pic below) supported by Rosie and Create, so there will be much more to come for this project.

Coming up...

We're looking forward to seeing some of the pictures and films made by the teenagers from NCS The Challenge on their recent visits to the ship.
