Congratulations to Paul for his suggestion of "Round Robin" for the name of our newsletter, we will be contacting him shortly to arrange delivery of a small prize!

As only one person expressed their interest in purchasing hoodies we will not be stocking them at this time.

News at the Robin

Our volunteer programme continues to grow and we now have 19 volunteers signed and helping the project. They are braving the cold to tackle the routine maintenance tasks on board, delving into the archive and decluttering the office with 'operation ebay!'
Following a successful grant application to the Royal Docks we are in the process of putting together a pitching kit and will soon be passing on traditional maritime skills as we teach our crew to care for the wooden decks on board the Robin.

The work experience programme with Newham College has been a great success.
Although we are scaling back due to the weather and light levels we are hoping to continue this next year.  The students have taken the ship to their hearts and some of them have chosen to work with us as part of their final year project for their BTEC in engineering.
Two of our work experience students from Newham College, happy that the job of replacing the wheels on the gangplank is finished!
Possibly our favourite  design from our 'through the porthole' event, part of the national 'Big Draw' and 'Family Arts Festival'.
One of the most crowded bridges ever! We welcomed 120 members from oddfellows, as well as groups from U3A and IHS maritime all in the same week!  Our planned tours for the year are now finished, but if you belong to an organisation that would like to arrange a special visit please contact Clare at clare.wincza@ssrobin.com
All hands on deck...

We are working towards accreditation as an independent museum. This accreditation will help to illustrate that we adhere to industry standards and best practices and will help us when applying for funding.
If you have visited the ship and would be happy to complete a short survey, please drop us an email at info@ssrobin.com and we will then pass your email address to AIM, the Association of
Independent Museums. They will send you a link to the survey.
We need at least 25 people to complete the survey and a few minutes of your time will help us out.

As always, you can contact us at
