Merry Christmas

The staff and trustees of the SS Robin Trust would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We would also like to thank you for your support during 2014 and hope that you will enjoy seeing the project develop in the coming year.
Following on from November...

Thank you to those of you who agreed to take part in the Association of Independent Museums survey.  We still need another 20 people to help us with this and complete a short survey. Please email us at if you can spare a few minutes to assist with this.

Rounding up 2014

During the six months since our activity programme started we have...
  • given tours to 362 visitors
  • taken part in 4 nationwide events
  • partnered with 20 organisations
  • run on site activities which have resulted in 1893 hours of contact time with visitors
  • participated in 4 external events, with an estimated 55 300 attendees
  • provided 324 hours of work experience for 23 young people
  • welcomed 19 new volunteers to the project, who have spent 472 hours with us
...and we're not even open yet!
News at the Robin

In the new year we will be starting a major fundraising drive, so keep a look out for our crowdfunding campaign on Fundrazr.
We will send you a link to this site when the page goes live and will be asking you to share it with as many people as you can.
The launch of this will be timed to coincide with the London Boat Show, during which we will be running daily fundraising tours.

We also hope to have some exciting project news for you early in 2015.....
We needed to adjust our tyre fenders to keep the Robin II off the side of the jetty. With a bit of help from Trevor and the scoop on the front of his boat we got the spare tyre up. Hopefully in 2015 we'll be able to get this into position...
Some of our most dedicated volunteers, Kim, Suz and Gary were given a respite from the cold when we brought them all indoors for a session on traditional ropework skills.  We spent a day whipping and splicing, with that all important cup of tea of course! A huge thank you to all for your commitment and support this year.
Oasis Academy joined us for the nationwide, Kids in Museums Takeover Day.  They 'took over' our social media sites and looked at promotional and fundraising campaigning. We even crammed in a bit of artwork too.
