Lately I have been reminded of "the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord" as Apostle Paul put it.
Let's remember Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Paul, John and others. I believe they knew God in a very special intimate way. And many of us today do not know God in such a way.
Their knowledge of God determined their life style, behavior, priorities and actions.
When Abraham was told to go and sacrifice his only son Isaac he went right away. During the three days of travelling he must have had all kinds of thoughts. God did promise descendants through Isaac.
I believe that based on his knowledge of God Abraham probably thought: "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?" (Numbers 23:19)
He knew God so well and was so confident about His promises that "He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back." (Hebrews 11:19)
Let us go further and deeper in our knowledge of God. Let us grow in our faith which is the confidence in what we hope. When we know God and rest on His promises there is no place for paralytic fear. It will determine our life style.
We are blessed to announce that Compass School of Ministry is now functioning.
The school's motto for each of the three semesters are:
*Stop and "know that I am God" - a great opportunity to focus on knowing God better before moving anywhere.
*Orientate - get a vision from God
*Go - it speaks for itself.
The school is an initiative of our good friends from the fellowship near Saint-Petersburg. Now it is a joint effort of a few pastors and missionaries that come to school to teach and disciple the seven students.
This is a picture of as I believe future leaders in training. We are praying for their growth and direction for them.
Please join us in prayers for the school, the students and the teachers.
Next week we are having a five day tent camping trip far out in the woods to seek the Lord together. There will be a time to fast, pray, worship and study the Word as well as a 24 hour alone time with God when you can only have water, the Bible and a sleeping bag on you.
"Children, it is the last hour <...> the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him." (1 John)
"and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2)
Thank you for your friendship and prayers.
We love you. Please pray for the power of the Spirit to work in us and through us continually.
