During the VII Northern Dimension Forum held on 7 April in St.Petersburg a special round table discussion was organized by NDPC on interaction and cross–overs between CCIs and cultural tourism, as well as innovative approaches in those sectors. The round table looked upon the CCIs and the possible synergies to be forged with cultural tourism, community involvement and creative museums. It was acknowledged that CCIs and cultural tourism are fast and mobile growing sectors important for economic development, but also social well–being and quality of life. In regards to further most important activities where NDPC could intervene, the experts and round table participants listed exchange of experience and knowledge between countries in policy development and support instruments, networking and sharing experiences on community involvement, building networks of successful businesses and creating meeting places as well as knowledge base – developing research and studies, monitoring CCIs and cultural tourism businesses.
