We are so deeply grateful for the continued support of you, our members. The Board of the Friends of the Davison Art Center has chosen to spend much of the past year improving how we serve and interact with our membership. We believe this is vital to maintaining a healthy organization that continues to engage and enlist new members while serving and exciting existing members.

Following our annual Board retreat in June we have been looking closely at how we can improve our membership levels to include better benefits for Friends. As part of our research we'd like to ask YOU, our loyal membership base, What would you like to see as benefits of membership?

Please email me directly at with your feedback.

Thank you,
Mariah Reisner '04

Tour of the Rembrandt’s Changing Impressions exhibition and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City

Don’t miss this special tour with Robert Fucci '92, curator of the exhibition Rembrandt’s Changing Impressions at the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery, Columbia University. This is an unparalleled opportunity to view Rembrandt’s most dramatically changed works, each displayed in multiple impressions, side by side, revealing their range, power, and nuance. After a light lunch, enjoy a guided tour of the gothic revival Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the largest cathedral in the world.

Ticket information: $65 general public; $55 for the Friends of the Davision Art Center. Ticket price includes lunch. Space limited. Transportation not included. Reservations available after August 26 by calling the Wesleyan University Box Office at 860-685-3355.

The Davison Art Center was full of activity during the seemingly quiet summer months of June and July, as a team of six people made highly accurate images of more than 1,900 artworks. Later this fall, more than 1,700 of these images will go live online in DAC Collection Search, where you can zoom in to see their finest details and freely download them as DAC Open Access Images. This imaging is made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for DAC collection digitization in the summers of 2015–2017.
