This closure will not prevent CPS from providing children with the quality education they deserve. Robust remote learning plans will continue through June 18, 2020—the last day of scheduled classes. Click here for the most up-to-date information on remote learning and to access valuable learning resources.
Additionally, grab-and-go meals will be available for the rest of the school year. For residents in and around the 44th Ward, Greeley Elementary at 832 W. Sheridan Road is the closest location offering meals for children. You can pick up three days worth of meals for your child at any site from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. |

Thank you to the many neighbors who are following CDC and CDPH recommendations to wear face coverings or masks when leaving the house.
Starting this Saturday, my office will join Mayor Lightfoot's office and other aldermanic offices across the city to collect donations of handmade masks. A staff member will be in the office solely to collect these donations each Saturday and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please adhere to these guidelines if you plan to donate handmade cloth masks/face coverings:
- Completed masks should be placed in a clear, clean and sealable bag
- When dropping off masks, you should be wearing a mask or face covering and gloves
- Donated masks should be made of machine washable fabric
- Follow these CDC guidelines on how to wear and sew masks
