We are delighted to share with you that the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2020 will be announcing and celebrating their winners at a virtual event on Monday 17 August 2020, from 19.00-21.00.
The Awards, which celebrated their 30th anniversary last year, champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry, celebrating quality, innovation and best practice.
This year, the programme aligned with 18 local competitions around the country, and winners of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2019 in eligible categories have been automatically put forward for the national awards. The finalists will be revealed at the end of the month.
The awards ceremony will be streamed live online and all are welcome to join in the virtual celebration. Details of how to view will be revealed in the coming weeks, but for now, please save the date.

Update - Lancashire Tourism Awards 2020
Normally in July we would be mystery shopping our applicants for the Lancashire Tourism Awards, but we have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s Lancashire Tourism Awards.
With so many of our leisure and hospitality businesses having faced closures for such a long period of time, and only now being allowed to reopen in very difficult and unusual circumstances, we feel it is not the right time to be running an awards process. Not only because of the challenges our tourism businesses continue to face, but also our attentions have been turned to supporting the industry and those businesses in partnership to re-define themselves in the “new norm”.
We very much hope to run a celebration for the industry in place of the Lancashire Tourism Awards later in 2020 / early 2021 so please keep an eye and an ear out for future announcements.

Stars gather to support UK small businesses when they need it most
On Thursday 30th July, leading UK performers, lifestyle stars and businesses will come together for indie business live, an online festival to support UK independent business.
In between performances, talks and live demo, all types of independent businesses from across the UK will be sharing their stories and showcasing their products.
This is all to raise money for small businesses, by simply asking viewers to spend with them.
Indie business live will take place on Thursday 30th July from 10am – 7pm and is being organised by tv business expert Kate Hardcastle MBE. Find out more here
