To kick off the Spring 2018 semester, join Join Professor Thiago Bottino, Professor Daniel Richman, and CAPI  for a three-session discussion of the evolution of the Brazilian Justice System, the United States' influence on reforms, and the facts and importance of the "Lavo Jato" case. Please find the details below. 


 
Session 1:  February 6, 3:00 to 4:30 pm- Columbia Law School, Jerome Greene Hall Room 106

The structure of the Brazilian Justice system; how judges, prosecutors and lawyers operate in a semi-inquisitorial system.

Session 2:  February 7, 12:10 to 1:15 pm-  Columbia Law School, Jerome Greene Hall Room 107 (lunch will be served)

The United States' influence on recent reform efforts in the Brazilian criminal justice system.
