Hurricane Relief Book Drive for Jones County, NC
Do you need to make room for your Book Fair purchases and the upcoming holidays? Please consider donating your gently used school age books to the PTA for our book drive.  Books will be delivered directly to schools in Pollocksville, NC, whose middle and elementary schools were condemned after Hurricane Florence.  Their entire schools, including their libraries, need to be rebuilt from scratch, and we want to help!  Look for collection bins outside the Media Center.  Questions?  Contact Bekah at rebekah.e.lu@gmail.com.
Grandfathering Application Deadline
Some Carpenter families will be assigned to a new elementary school beginning next year.  To find out if you are affected, visit http://wwwgis2.wcpss.net/addressLookup/ to use the address lookup tool and find your 2019-2020 base assignment as well as your possible application schools.  If your assigned school is changing for next year, you may consider the following options:
Cultural Arts

Our next cultural arts performance will be Friday, December 7th at 2:30 pm for grades 3-5.  We're excited to host former Carpenter teacher Tammy Matthews and The Pittsboro Youth Theater as they perform "When She Had Wings," a play about Amelia Earhart.  Parents and tracked out families are welcome to attend.  To learn more about the PYT, visit their website at pittsboroyouththeater.com. Thank you to all our parents who support bringing the arts to our school by participating in PTA fundraisers!
