Where Are They Now?
Testimony of Jayson Favazza
My name is Jayson Favazza. I am 33 years old and I am from Gloucester, Massachusetts. I was raised in a good home and had good morals instilled in me at an early age by my loving parents. I grew up playing sports my entire life and as I got older, “the jocks” had a party mentality, so I just fell in line with the crowd. I got into drinking, along with selling and using drugs at a very young age.
As my life progressed, my addiction to OxyContin and heroin spiraled out of control. At age 27, I found myself homeless, jobless, and broken, with all my options exhausted, except one. I entered the doors of Teen Challenge on April 27, 2010. I enrolled because of the plea of my mother and sister, to simply give my family a little bit of peace. However, after I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I understood that I had to do this program for myself. I realized that a junkie could be transformed, could be made new and could become a person of integrity. What I did not realize, nor could I imagine, was the many other new things God had in store for me!
Today I have been with Teen Challenge for a little over six years and I could not have asked for a better place to grow my relationship with God. I serve at the Boston campus as the program supervisor and I am blessed to be able to give back to people who were just as hopeless as I was. I am also excited to share that on May 14th, 2016 I married the love of my life whom I met at Teen Challenge. I never imagined that a life such as this could be possible for me when I entered the doors of Teen Challenge in 2010, but everyday God reminds me that with Him….ALL things are possible!!
