Simon Verity - "The Library of Libraries"
Dear lover of libraries,

A big thank you to everyone who responded to our recent fundraising appeal! If you haven't already donated, we urgently need your help: please give generously now. With your help, we believe we can stop NYPL's reckless plan to gut the 42nd Street Library and sell popular branch libraries.

This week's major development: A third lawsuit has just been filed, challenging the rubber-stamp environmental review of NYPL's plan (read today's excellent Wall Street Journal coverage here).

We are also pleased to announce a wonderful new literary weapon in our fight. Renowned British artist Simon Verity has penned a modern-day fable, The Library of Libraries. Whimsically illustrated with Verity's inimitable drawings, the book satirizes the Central Library Plan as a sleight-of-hand by those who envision a high-tech showpiece at the 42nd Street Library rather than a great research institution.

A limited edition print run of 1,000 copies of the book is available in select NYC independent bookstores (including Book Culture, Crawford Doyle Booksellers, and Left Bank Books) for $5.00 each.  It is also available as an ebook on Amazon. Proceeds from book sales will help fund our ongoing efforts to stop the NYPL’s multi-pronged plan of destruction and downsizing. For more information, please visit our website.
