Hi everyone,

Competition News
Thanks to all those who submitted images in the June monthly completion. This was the open competition judged by members of our Society and entitled “You Be The Judge”.  This is the first time we have used member judging panels and we received positive feed-back about the night.  If you would like to comment, please talk to a committee member. We will probably include another competition like it on next year’s program, so we would like to know how to improve the event.  Thanks and congratulations to Helen McFadden who both organised the evening and secured (without any special favouritism from the judges) one of the “Images of the Night” (shown above). The other "Image of the Night" was awarded to Peter Powell (shown below).  You can see all the high scoring entries here.

Communications Survey
Thanks also to all members who participated in our recent "Communications Survey". Over half the members participated and provided some interesting feedback. If you are interested in the results of the survey and the response of the committee to the findings, please see the document "Report and Conclusions from the Communications Survey 2014" that has been posted in the Strategic Planning topic on the Forum at http://cpsaus.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=357. If you would like to comment on the document please post a reply to the post in the Forum.

OUT THERE 2014

Suggestions for entering photographic images for our exhibition Out There 2014:

1.   Start selecting your entries now.  We have already seen many impressive images from new and longer term members since our 2013 exhibition.  Please consider both single entries and related bodies of work, including how best to present each image or group.

2.   Please consider and prepare your selected existing work as soon as the entry forms and information sheets are available in the CPS Gallery (very soon).  That way, the catalogue preparation and consideration of the invitation design, early publicity and related projects such as exhibition calendar and cards can commence production without a last-minute overload.

Complete your first batch of entries online and upload their jpgs to the designated gallery (further details in forthcoming OT2014 Information sheet).

3.   A further entry form and related jpgs can easily be added later, as you complete further work closer to the final deadline.

4.   Early entry is particularly important if you are expecting to be out of town closer to the time of the exhibition.  Some members have already done this, and we would still like to see your work represented in our annual showcase, even if you are away.
