singapore st andrew’s society e-news: february 2017

chieftain’s chat

This is my last message to you as chieftain as the May e-news will be in the hands of Marietta. As we both countdown to the handover, I want to say what an absolute privilege it has been to hold the title of chieftain of the St Andrew’s Society. With every chieftain comes the weight of responsibility to keep our little society flourishing, and I look forward to playing a supporting role come the AGM.

There are too many highs in the past year to list, but the Burns Supper is always a favourite.
This year’s was extra special for having so many of our committee taking to the stage.

So what else have you got to look forward to from us? Well, there is the ceilidh on the 4th March, lassies night at the theatre on 10th March, Trainspotting 2 on the 15th March, the rugby 7s over Easter weekend and the AGM and Brain of St Andrew’s Quiz at the end of April.

Hope to see you before I begin my retirement!

Elaine
It’s ceilidh time! Our experienced dancers will guide us through the dance sets, then we’ll have live music to enjoy while you rest!

All tickets are now $65 so any non members who booked at $85 will receive a refund on the night. Ticket price includes finger food, soft drinks and TWO FREE DRINKS at the bar!

Come on, lassies, let’s go and watch Calendar Girls, a delightful comedic drama based on a true story. No lassies night would be complete without a glass of wine or two, of course, so we will have a drink before the show and meet the play's Director and cast after the show.

Tickets are $55 and the password for booking is Calgirls1003

We have our little section filled, so now it’s about all the other things the Rugby 7s has to offer. We are putting together a meet and greet with the Scottish squad and a training session for the kids, so will keep you posted...
