Congratulations to young Ebony Phipps who is this week’s “catch of the week” with her 30kg mulloway landed at Corinella on Sunday morning. Ebony was fishing with her father Wayne when her rod screamed off and she battled this beast for well over an hour. A massive effort from a 13yo! There are grown men crying over this catch, well done Ebony!

Alan Hodges fished the Crawfish Rock area this week and was happy to land some beautiful snapper including this healthy model. The last of the run out tide is the key in the deeper water.

Good friend of the shop, Gaven Metherall ventured out with the family over the weekend and had a more than successful outing with Gaven and Tyler landing a 9.11 and 7.63kg snapper respectively. Great to see you cracked the 20lb mark Methers!

Young Archie Dwyer fished with his dad Russell and good friend Darren Bull and together the trio managed some beautiful fish in the Lyalls Channel. Archie helped dad reel in this chunky 5.6kg snapper while Darren was the gummy slayer of the day. Great work fellas!

Ebony and her father Wayne Phipps fished out from Corinella on Sunday morning and landed this 30kg Mulloway measuring 1.5 meters! The hungry Mulloway could not resist the fresh squid strips as Ebony's reel started to scream off! Let’s just say that Ebony’s arms were quite sore on Monday after an hour long fight. Fantastic catch guys, well done!

John Sulja, his brother and their sons fished Sunday morning and landed this 9kg snapper! Fishing in 15 meters of water off Point Cook, they landed this cracker on an Instinct Lumo Snapper rig. Awesome fish guys!

Trent managed a couple of respectable snapper while fishing at T2 near Port Melbourne on Sunday. Pilchards got these healthy fish to bite.

Logan Perna landed his first night time snapper while fishing with his dad throughout the week. The boys were out from St Kilda and Logan managed this 5.9kg beauty.

Jovan Pageot bagged out on snapper in the St Kilda area while fishing with good mates James Markulis and Justin Lister. The fish ranged between 3 and 7kg with pilchard and silver whiting getting the job done.

Chris Bonavia paddled out on his kayak this week and while fishing the Black Rock area he managed some quality snapper to 4.5kg. It’s great to see plenty of kayakers getting amongst the Melbourne snapper!

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters has been nailing some good reds to 7kg for some happy customers. Jayson has been working hard for his fish travelling between Mordialloc and Frankston. Pilchard and silver whiting have been the favoured baits.

Bronny couldn’t wipe the smile off her face when she landed this 6kg stonker out from Carrum last Wednesday. Bronny was fishing in 15m of water and was using pilchards for bait.

Regular customer Tom Sanza and staff member David Kramer fished off Rosebud last Sunday and found good numbers of King George whiting out deep. Pipis and shucked mussel were the best baits during the last of the flood tide.

James caught this chunky 70cm salmon while fishing from the Blairgowrie Pier in some superb conditions over the weekend. Bluebait was the bait of choice.

Staff member Kallan took his old man Geoff up to Eildon on Saturday and while fishing in some superb conditions, Geoff managed his first ever Murray cod of about 60cm. Geoff managed 2 cod with one coming on an Old Mate lure and the other landed on a Mud Guts spinnerbait.

Diane, Andrew and their son Rusty had a cracker of a few days at Eildon last week. They found a couple of nice trout in the Pondage before heading out on the Lake the next day where Andrew got a nice 70cm Murray Cod. A great family fishing trip!

Troy Francis managed this lovely brown trout of 6.5lb at Eildon while trolling Stump Jumper’s for yellow belly and Murray cod last Thursday. Troy also got stuck into the yella’s when he headed back on Saturday. Great fish mate!
