Chris is this week’s “catch of the week” with his exciting report from the Mornington pier. Chris landed this 72cm kingfish from the Pier while casting soft plastics for salmon. Fantastic catch, well done!

Paul and Cristy accomplished a new milestone and ticked another amazing experience off their bucket list when they both landed a marlin on fly while fishing the flats of Platypus Bay in Harvey Bay. The pair fished with guide, Chozza from Harvey Bay Fly and Sportsfishing who was an absolute gun! The method was to tease the fish up and then cast a fly in front of the Marlin’s bill which then got engulfed and peeled line right down to the last of the backing! Well done guys, can’t wait to hear all about it!

BOURCHIER CHANNEL

Perry Mur landed his first for the season while fishing the Bourchier Channel on Sunday morning. Perry only managed the one fish, but it was more than enough for a great feed!

Keith Diprose from Big Time Fishing Charters reports he had a great weekend on the reds with some happy clients and smiles all round. Skitzy found plenty of fish in the Corinella area and the majority of fish weighed between 4 and 5kg. Fresh whiting heads were the bait of choice and caught the bulk of the fish. Great work Skitzy!
CORALS

Dean Delaney took his son, Cameron and partner, Michelle out on the water over the weekend and produced the goods bringing home some quality snapper for the table. The trio fished a couple of spots around the Corals and it wasn’t long before the go stuck into the action. Cameron landed this 5.1kg fish and wouldn’t stop showing it off at the ramp! Happy fishing!

Staff member, Nathan Peterson spent Monday morning on the Port fishing with his old man in perfect conditions. The boys anchored up around the Rhyll area upon sounding up plenty of solid arches and it wasn't long before the rods loaded and some hungry snapper took a liking to their fresh squid strips. The boys ended up with 5 fish and dropped plenty more. Great work fellas.

David Sykes dropped into the shop last week to pick up some bait for the next day and reports that the boys put him right onto the fish! David headed out early Thursday morning and sounded up plenty of fish near Rhyll and it didn’t take long for them to jump on the hook. David managed this quality 6kg model.

11 year old, Tyler got his arms stretched by his PB snapper while fishing near Rhyll this week. Tyler’s fish measured 85cm and weighed in at 7.6kg. Great work from the young gun!

Vince Misuraca got in and amongst the Port Phillip action when he boated this 8.1kg snapper out from St Kilda on Monday. Vince reports he was fishing in 10m when his rod buckled over and the tip was in the water!

Regular Talking Fishing viewer, Cam was over the moon with his catch throughout the week. Cam has put in over 40 hours on the water lately with no luck, but that all turned around when found the fish in 14m out from Black Rock and they went nuts! Great work mate, hard work pays off!

RICKETTS POINT

Craig Hempel landed this big old man snapper while fishing in 16m out from Ricketts Point. Craig’s big red weighed just shy of the 20lb mark at 19.89lb, nevertheless a fantastic fish. Well done Craig!

This 3.5kg snapper wreaked havoc when it took a liking to a pilchard tail on James Sulja’s flathead rod out from Ricketts Point. James was fishing with his father and good friend Vince.

Congratulations to Dougie Bauer who landed his first ever 20 ponder this week while out from Carrum. Dougie reports he was fishing in perfect conditions Sunday night and there wasn’t another boat in sight when he hooked into this big girl. Well done mate, keep em coming!

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters had a pretty good strike rate over the past week and managed great numbers of snapper to 91cm and 7.5kg. Jayson has been fishing in depths between 11 and 19m. Silver whiting, squid, scad and pillys have all been working as well as each other. Keep up the great work Jayson!

Matt Boulton from Fish On Fishing Charters found the fish again this week out from Carrum and Chelsea. This monster was taken by a very happy customer, Sai. Best baits have been pilchard and silver whiting. Great work Matt.

Mitch Bertacchini from Online Fishing Charters had no problems finding fish for his clients this week and sent them home with a good feed of snapper. Fish have ranged in size between 2kg and 5kg.

Wayne Sharrock from Sharkmen Fishing Charters reports that the snapper have gone nuts aboard “Imagine That” throughout the week. Sharky has loaded his boat up with some new arsenal this season, using the Snapper Nano rods and Stradic FK reels which have not missed a beat! Love ya work Sharky.

Shaun Furtiere from Think Big Fishing Charters managed to put young Addy onto this terrific 6kg snapper on Sunday. Shaun reports it was a slow day on Sunday, but it was rewarding to see a young fella go home with a cracker. Keep up the great work Shaun!

Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters got back into the snapper action this week and found plenty of good sized fish out from Mornington. Simmo reports he has been fishing a range of depths, but has found good numbers in shallower areas.

The kingfish are here! Chris was casting soft plastics from the pier at Mornington in search of salmon when his rod loaded up and started peeling line! Chris battled this 72cm king in and around structure to finally haul it onto the deck of the pier. This is just a sign of what there is to come. Great work Chris!

There has been no lack of fish aboard Matt Cini’s Reel Time Fishing Charters this week as he continued his good form and put his customers onto some buckles. The fish haven’t been too fussy this week and have taken a liking to most bait put in front of them.

Greg Torpy headed down to Balcombe Creek after the down pour of rain last week and nailed some quality bream while using chicken for bait.

Staff member Paul Delisle headed up to Eildon over the weekend with his son, Rex and managed this lovely golden perch while drifting along steep banks with their new watersnake motor. Paul reports that casting vibes along the bank was the successful method.

Michael Evans hooked into some fat redfin to 1.5kg while fishing a lake in the Central Highlands. Michael was slow rolling fish arrow soft plastics across weed beds and structure when these big fish came out and engulfed his lures.

Frank Milito from East Gippsland Fishing Charters continued his good form on the big lizards at Tyers this week. Frank put customer, “Wolf” onto this southern croc while casting paddle tail soft plastics. Love ya work Frank!

Jenni Fava landed this 67cm dusky flathead while casting soft plastics in the shallows at Lake Tyers. Jenni took a quick happy snap and returned it back to the water.
