The calamari are wide spread along the Tyabb Bank with plenty of anglers getting amongst the action. These tasty specimens were caught in some quality conditions last Sunday.

Darren Stephens and his mate Matty landed this whopping 78cm flathead from the Corinella area in some delightful conditions this week. This beauty would have made some sensational flatty tails, however, the boys made the decision to release her for another day. Great work lads!

Alan Bonnici and John Regali headed back out to the Nong where they fooled some lovely bream in some pretty tough and windy conditions. The pair managed fish to 36cm in the murky water using lightly weighted maggots and pilchard strips. Great work fellas!

PATTERSON RIVER

Patterson River has been fishing quite well regardless of the dirty water in the system. Most fish are schooling up in the deeper part of the system and can be targeted on vibes and soft plastics.

Staff member Jesse Matthias took his younger brother, Harry down to Balcombe Creek this week and the pair had a ball landing plenty of bream on un-weighted scrub worms. Harry out fished Jesse as per usual!

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters reports the Port Phillip squid fishing is on fire! Anywhere between Mt Martha and Mornington has been fishing quite well. Matt has been finding endless success on the Hayabussa jig range.

Jason Fairbridge fished out of Barwon Heads last weekend and together with a nice gummy, Jason landed this 7.7kg snapper. A sign of things to come!

There’s still plenty of bluefin to be had when the weather allows anglers to get out! Chris Woolley and crew landed this beast weighing 114.8kg in 90m of water out from Portland. Great work boys!

Now that’s a thumping rainbow trout! Pheobe Knight landed this beautiful 1.9kg rainbow trout all by herself on her new toy rod while at Eildon Pondage over the weekend. Well done Pheobe!

Pauline Allsop became the first female angler from the Cranbourne Angling Club to win a bream comp when she landed this 1.4kg beast over the weekend. Plenty of fish were landed as the Tambo and Mitchell Rivers fished exceptionally well. Well done Pauline.

The Thorpdale & District Angling Club also ran a bream comp last weekend and the girls out fished the boys in this comp too. Jess Johnson landed this cracker that went 41.7cm while her daughters Meika and Casey landed some respectable models as well. Apparently Dad (and husband) Dave who is club President has resorted to being bait boy to his family of fishing females!

Young Logan Vessey landed his very first bass on a popper while fishing with his dad, Steve recently. Steve was busy un-snagging his own lure when he looked around and Logan was hooked into this 38cm bass. Well done Logan!

Matt Bannister headed up to Darwin on a recent work trip but was able to sneak in a days worth of fishing which paid off! Matt was stoked to land this 15kg black jewfish aboard Equinox. Well done Matt!
