Brodie Methers caught this 6kg gummy shark on a whiting rig while fishing the top end of Western Port during the week. It took a pilchard and the size 2 hook managed to pin it perfectly.

YARRINGA

3 year old Aleahra Smith caught her first whiting on her first trip on the water fishing in the channel. With a strike rate like this she is set to be a gun angler!

HASTINGS

Brodie Hillbrick caught this 67cm flathead off Hastings pier on a Squidgies Wriggler at low tide last week. It is the first fish Brodie has ever caught on a lure and what a beautiful fish to start him off with.

Marty and his son Dick fished on Friday night in Western Port and picked up a 5.5kg and 6.5kg snapper respectively. They used whiting heads for bait.
WESTERN ENTRANCE

Dave Standing and Brendan Wing have been dominating fish once again this week. The guys fished the run in tide at the western entrance of Western Port to land this big school shark. Using trevally chunk as bait, they also landed a 14kg and an 8kg gummy shark in the same sitting.

Gavrill, who is on holidays here in Australia all the way from Kalamata, Greece, caught his first Australian fish on Wednesday. Fishing in 15m of water and using pilchard as bait.

Shaun Furtiere, skipper of Think Big Fishing Charters has found the fish biting on the mid morning charters now as well as the early starts. Some nice fish coming on pilchard, squid and silver whiting.

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters has been in the thick of the action with his clients this week producing fish to 6.8kg. Jayson and crew have been fishing in 19-21m of water and yakka has been a productive bait this week.

The crew from Reel Time Fishing Charters have been getting some nice snapper this week. Fishing in 16-19m of water the guys have been doing well using pilchard, squid and garfish baits.

Paul Walker landed this lovely snapper in 18m off Carrum. Paul caught it on a silver whiting.

Simon Rinaldi and the Red Hot Fishing Charters crew are finding snapper biting throughout the day now and have been getting plenty of fish. Squid and pilchards doing the job for the team.

Wayne Sharrock from Sharkmen Charters has found fish again this week and reports a mix of sizes from 2kg up to 6kg coming on board. Pilchard and silver whiting have been the stand out baits this week.

Members of the Keysborough Angling Club ventured out onto Port Phillip Bay and landed 10 fish for the day in total. Snapper ranging from 1.5kg to 3kg took pilchard and silver whiting baits.

Jozef and his dad fished P2 on Saturday and caught this nice snapper on a squid strip intended for a flathead on his light outfit. It put up a huge fight on the 10lb outfit and 1/0 hook.

Jamie Grima caught this 6.5kg snapper while fishing near P2 in 18m of water. Port Phillip Bay pilchards did the trick.
INDENTED HEAD

Sam Riggio caught this squid that weighed in at 1.1kg fishing in 5.5m of water off Indented Head. Sam reports it was the largest of the 4 he caught in the short afternoon session on Sunday.

LAKE EILDON

Staff members Luke McCredden and Adam Ring fished with Steve Trembath this week at Lake Eildon. The boys got some nice Yellowbelly on Jackall TN60 and Bolt Zumba lures.

EMERALD LAKE

George Pezos fished with his dad Peter and sister Kristina at Emerald Lake on Saturday. At around 8pm he landed this beautiful Rainbow Trout that roughly weighed 800g. It was caught using a paternoster rig. Worms and Powerbait are ideal baits for stocked lakes like this one.
BEMM RIVER

Mick from Morwell and three of his mates fished for a few days at Bemm. In windy conditions, they managed some nice flathead with the biggest measuring 57cm and was released. The guys got most fish using soft plastics.

Frank Milito from East Gippsland Charters is enjoying some good fishing at the moment. Particularly with the bream on hard body lures.

NSW SOUTH COAST

Stuart Hindson is once again right in amongst the action fishing the estuary systems along NSW’s south coast. Stu is finding big numbers of solid flathead to 80cm as well as plenty of mulloway. Bigger soft plastics for bigger fish is a good trick to try out up there!

Another light tackle Mako Shark for the boys from Charter Fish Narooma this week. Just shows that if you play the fish right, you can land anything.
NEW ZEALAND

Young Bray Packer from Auckland, NZ has been smacking some big snapper offshore this week. Bray caught this beast on a 110g Shimano Bottomship Jig in gold. Nice one Bray!!!
