Staff member Scott Harper and good customer Peter Vink had a pretty unforgettable night on the water this week. The plan was to find some squid and then sit in a new area in the hope for the elusive mulloway. After about an hour in, the boys had a massive run and were almost convinced they had succeeded, however after a 20 minute battle in only 3m of water, Pete pulled up to the side of the boat, the biggest gummy shark either of them had ever seen. A further 15 minutes on and the big girl was finally pulled into the boat but unfortunately could not be revived despite the boys best efforts. The boys set a staggering 31 pups swim free so at least all was not lost. The beast weighed 24kg cleaned, so estimated around 32kg. Oh and the boys did manage this respectable snapper too.
