Last week Paul and the Ifish crew rafted and kayaked the Snowy River near Bruthen with Craig Ingram and the team at Snowy River Expeditions. They caught a stack of Australian Bass on surface fly, surface lures, hard bodies and spinnerbaits. At approx $250 per person inc all gear and meals it is a must do fishing trip that will blow your mind.

Jet, Cristy & Paul headed down to The Rip last Sunday for a session on the Yellowtail Kingfish. Joining the other 200 boats in The Rip, Jetty got this cracker Vic King.

Staff member David Kramer and good mate Michael Buxton joined the flotilla of boats in The Rip on Sunday for a ripper session on Yellowtail Kingfish. The boys landed 7 fish, all between 74 & 76cm.

How good is this Kingfish bite in The Rip?! Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters definitely made the most of the good weather on the weekend and jigged up plenty more Kingfish for some very happy clients. Entice Ringer knife jigs have been the stand out. Love ya work Matt!

Mason Shulze got amongst the Port Phillip Kingfish on Sunday and had a killer session landing 9 fish in total. Mason reports that live squid and knife jigs got the Kings feeding!

Regular customer Billy Hayes headed down to Wilsons Promontory over the weekend with good mates Sam Blundy and Jack Armistead. Big Kingfish were the target for the trio and they did not miss landing these 2 crackers and losing one boat side estimated at over 20kg! Live baits and lures were the 2 methods used by the fellas.

The crew from Sharkmen Fishing Charters have been getting a few of their clients stretched this week with some big Victorian Kingfish coming aboard. According to Dylan, big baits equal the big fish!

Michael O’Connell from the Victorian Police Angling Club set out in search of some gummy baits and stumbled across this chunky 89cm snook while trolling a vibe lure near Stony Point. Great work Michael!

Young Tyler gave his new Tackle Rat rod a bit of a work out while down at Tooradin on Sunday afternoon. Tyler got himself stuck into some quality trevally, salmon and mullet.

Chris Preston spent Saturday night out on the water fishing the Corinella area in about 3m of water. Chris reports it was a relatively slow night, but he did manage this lovely table sized gummy.

Michael Rushford landed this beautiful gummy shark while fishing out off San Remo in some superb conditions on Sunday. Couple of nice flake fillets on that one!

Mornington Staff member Zach Mcmahon headed out into Bass Straight with good friends Nick Taranto and Georgia Harris this week. The fishing was a little slow but the trio still managed to tag and release a small blue shark. However the highlight of the day was definitely the huge sunfish that drifted up to say hi.

Prior to hitting the Kings on Sunday, Mason Schultz headed out from Mordialloc earlier in the week in search of the reds and he reports there was no lack of fish! Mason’s sounder lit up like a Christmas tree in 17m of water and the rods began to buckle!

Young Ruby had a cracking afternoon this week landing 9 bream from her doorstep at Patterson Lakes. Ruby landed all her fish on mussels and prawns and 3 of the fish were over 35cm with the biggest measuring 38! Well done Ruby!

Grant took out his son Bailey and his friend Ned and cousin Rehyan on the squid this week. The boys headed out off Queenscliff and managed some decent sized ones too! According to Grant, the kids had a ball!

A community fishing weekend will be held at Hazelwood Pondage on 4 and 5 February 2017 to celebrate barramundi and encourage more people to try their luck wetting a line for these iconic fish.

Permits to fish from boats at Hazelwood will not be required during the weekend, nor beyond March 1 2017, simplifying access and providing everyone with an opportunity to land their own barra.

Simon Rinaldi and Matty Harris from Red Hot Fishing Charters have been nailing some quality bluefin tuna while down at Portland this week! The bluefin are definitely running red hot!

Regular customer Jason Taylor fished for the local Kings last week but then ventured down the highway to Portland for the weekend and was rewarded with some chunky bluefin tuna casting surface lures and working jigs.

Felix Matasic landed his very first bluefin tuna this week and it was an absolute beauty at 21.5kg! Portland is definitely firing at the moment! Great work Felix!

Rory has been getting stuck into some beautiful gummys while fishing from the surf down in Gippsland. Rory has been having most success using fresh mullet or salmon and reports that all the big breeders have been released. Great work Rory!

Young guns Tahj Wirth, Darcy and Joel Clifton have been catching some cracker flathead at Lake Tyers. The trio reeled in a 56cm dusky flathead using squidgy wrigglers and they even managed this respectable 83cm model on squid heads! Awesome fish boys!
