PAUL’S FISHING
img
img
Paul and family have been holidaying up in the warm and welcoming conditions of Exmouth, WA. The trio managed to spend some time together fishing the inshore reefs picking up a good range of species along with great numbers of squid, which Paul reports have taken a liking to our IKA and Northcraft Surf squid jigs! Paul left Tantabiddi early the other day and set out on a mission, one which involved the swordfish! Paul was lucky enough to release two swords, one of about 25kg and the other estimated around the 100kg mark! Unfortunately the battle was lost before being able to get any photos, but still an amazing experience! To top things off, they hooked a lovely striped marlin to end a sensational days fishing. Exmouth continues to impress!
TUNA
EAST COAST

Simon Rinaldi and Matty Harris from Red Hot Fishing Charters definitely made a bold statement over the weekend on the big bluefin tuna front! The boys were out on Saturday and report that it was one of the best days bluefin tuna fishing they have experienced! Only one tuna was kept at a guess of 70kg but multiple fish were caught between 70 and 85kg. After finishing their session cubing, the boys set their lures in and trolled up their cube trail. After about a kilometer of trolling several rods screamed off with fish ranging between 100 and 115kg on the end!

The fellas from Charter Fish Narooma got amongst the action this week landing this beast of a bluefin! The boys had a fair battle on their hands when they hooked into this cracker on a Saltiga 6500! The fish wasn’t weighed, but estimated between 110 and 120kg. Great work guys!

img
The boys from Head Hunter Charters had no dramas hooking into the monster bluefin again earlier this week. There are currently good numbers off fish off the Tathra area, but locating the right currents and sourcing the right bite times are critical, but you can definitely reap the rewards!
img
Epic fishing from good customers Colin Nickless, Brad Thompson, Terry Phillips and Joffa Thomas! While fishing out of Bermagui the other day, the boys were rewarded with a monster bluefin taken on the troll that weighed a whopping 118kg, a cracker yellowfin of 55kg which was caught whilst cubing and then to top off their day they hooked into a huge mako weighing 138kg! Insane fishing boys, well done to all!

Matt Boulton from Fish On Charters stumbled across this cracker bluefin that weighed 62kg! Matt was fishing in 70m of water and about 10km south of the rock when she came up and peeled off a fair lump of line! The boys hauled aboard their trophy before bagging out on school fish by 11am. Great work guys!
img

Mitch Bertacchini from Online Fishing Charters spent a solid few days on the bluefin this week with much success. Mitch reports that they are seeing more numbers of tuna at Portland right now than he has for most of the season! Fish are scattered between 70 and 100m which can make it a short trip out and is allowing for them to have a bit of fun on lighter gear.

Matty had a special fishing moment on Monday when he landed this beautiful red. Matty, AKA Seado, headed out with nothing but half a burley log, a sabiki rig and a couple of squid jigs. Seado’s aim was to catch some fresh bait and then head up the top to pursue a big winter snapper which he did precisely. After managing a few yakkas and squid from the Tyabb area, Matty hooked into this quality red which was landed after a few nervous net shots. Love your work Seado!
