WESTERN PORT
MIDDLE SPIT

It is definitely good to see the whiting turn up and it is shaping up to be a strong season. Patrice Le Miere and Paul Shishoian came home with a good bag of whiting this week after fishing the top end of the spit. Most fish ranged from 30 to 40cm and pipi/squid cocktails got them chewing.

TOORADIN

Brodie Trevean beat the adults during a marquee event held over the weekend. 6 year old Brodie fished in terrible conditions Friday night, but was rewarded with this lovely 6.110kg snapper from the Corinella area.

RHYLL
img
Again the fish proved tough for Keith Diprose from Big Time Fishing Charters but he managed a feed of reds coming from Rhyll with whiting heads being the best bait. Keith reports he had to spend some time sounding for the fish, but once he had found them it wasn’t long until they fed. Keith then took off to Cleland Bight and stumbled across a red hot squid bite. Purple and black jigs were the weapons of choice.

‘The chick can fish’ are the words a very proud husband says of his wife Cristy, in the gin clear waters of Queensland’s Hervey Bay, as she brings her catch alongside the boat.
Her excitement is palpable because she has caught, arguably, one of the most exciting fish the ocean has to offer, on a fly rod. The duo are fishing with Andrew Chorley from Hervey Bay Fly and Sportfishing and the action is thick and fast as they raise black marlin in depths as shallow as just 5 feet.
Sit back this Sunday afternoon and tune into Paul Worsteling’s IFISH with Tackle World on ONE at 5.30pm, you will be absolutely blown away!!
