Congratulations to Thomas and Gary Pinter who are this week’s “catch of the week” after tagging this marlin out from Bermagui in their 4m tinnie! The pair was able to raise and hook 3 fish which is a staggering effort in such a small boat! Well done fellas!

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters has been getting stuck into the kingies this week with plenty of the action coming out of the Rip. Matt reports there is definitely no lack of fish! Live baits and jigs have both been working the best.

Bruce Wallace and Jo Hows got amongst the Vic kings and headed out through the heads. Jo was able to get her arms stretched by this cracker whilst trolling rapala x-rap 20s. Great work guys!

Kingfish whisperer, Scotty Gray has been nailing some monsters in the west this week in some perfect conditions. Scott reports the fish are everywhere with the amount of bait prevalent. Scotty has had great success casting stickbaits in shallower water and jigging in deeper water. Make sure you get your seat booked to Scotty’s talk night at TW Cranbourne week after next!

Portland seems to be firing for the kings; Shaun Hillier landed this pair of fish while fishing land-based from the breakwall on Wednesday!

It’s been kingfish galore aboard Charter Fish Narooma the past couple of weeks. Montague Island is reported to be firing and the boys have had plenty of success using metal jigs.

Exciting stuff for the locals and anyone heading to Narooma! There has been quite a large school of kingfish inside the lake this week and anglers are having a ball casting stickbaits and poppers to the busting schools on light gear!

Jake Hilbert went out on his first snapper trip and came home smiling after landing this pair of reds. Jake reports he and his mates also managed a couple of others along with a nice gummy.

Dana Cihelka and her 2 boys, Adam and Benedict landed some beautiful gummies while out from Lang Lang on Tuesday. The boys landed these 2, but Dana also got amongst the action.

Jacob Memery headed back out with his Nan and Pop throughout the week and landed this nice little schoolie along with some pinkies out from Corinella. Jacob won the squidgies section at the Rhyll Fishing Club competition. Well done champ!

Kozzi and Huff scored a lovely mixed bag out from Cowes this week landing pinkies, whiting, mullet, salmon and a fat cuttlefish! Keep up the good work boys!

Jim Elliot landed this wonderful gummy on freshly caught squid. Jim reports he was fishing the run out tide on Saturday with good mates, Rod Dowler and Bob Hartley. Great work fellas!

Shaun Furtiere from Think Big Fishing Charters had a pretty good strike rate on the whiting this week. Shaun fished further down south and got amongst some chunkier models which took a liking to mussels, pippi and squid.

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters ventured into Western Port this week. Fishing down south, Jayson was able to get some happy customers stretched on this massive seven gill shark. There were also some small pinkies amongst the action which meant they went home with a great feed too!

The gummys have really turned it on this season and in particular the past couple of weeks have seen a fair few big girls kicking around in both Western Port and Port Phillip. Marcus borrowed his good mate's boat for the day and came up tight with this fat gummy while fishing in 23m of water in the Western Entrance. This fish was a PB for Marcus!

Keith Diprose from Big Time Fishing Charters headed out on the kings in Bass Strait this week. It took a bit of looking but Keith eventually found a nice school in the end. Unfortunately he put everything in front of them but they were very spooky, however he did manage some by catch which put some smiles on some happy customers faces.

Anthony Torpy took his good mate down to Half Moon Bay in search of some pinkies but instead landed this cracking 1.5kg bream on a piece of fresh mullet.

Greg Torpy fished the Mornington Rocks Monday evening and landed 6 snapper at 1.5kg all on fresh squid. Great work Greg.

Natalia and Bianca headed out with their father with the task of supplying dinner for the family and guests coming to visit over the holidays. Natalia and Bianca did not disappoint and the family was eating like Kings with fresh calamari and cuttlefish. Great work girls!

Stefan fished with his old man on Monday and the pair managed a tasty mixed bag. Stefan landed a chunky 48 cm Flathead along with some pinkies, squid, cuttlefish and even some octopus! Fantastic work fellas, Yum Yum!

Laura and Amelia made the most of their holidays and headed out in search of whiting and squid with their dad from Portarlington. From all reports there were plenty of whiting about and the girls managed a fantastic bag along with some quality squid taken on red coloured jigs.

Jason Taylor headed down to Wilsons Prom earlier this week in search of Kings. Using some of the new Entice metal jigs, Jason managed a few hoodlums but reported the water was still a tad green which made things tough.

PORTLAND

It was once strange to be catching tuna around Portland this time of the year, but over the past couple of seasons, it has come more and more common! This 10.8kg fish was taken just 50m from the Portland breakwall on a 5” orange skirt.

YARRAWONGA

This massive Murray cod was caught by 13 year olds, Kail Goodwin and Anthony Cinities who hooked into the beast with their $30 dollar rod with a bit of cheese. The pair took turns in battling this beast for over 15 minutes before dragging her ashore, weighing it and taking a couple of quick photos before release. 23kg was the final weight and she measured in at 106cm. Love ya work guys!

BUNDALONG

Sean headed up to Bundalong for a camping trip with the rest of the family for 9 days. Over the period, Sean reports that there was in excess of 50 cod caught! Sean left camp for a while and returned to his Mum dragging this beautiful cod to the bank, she was over the moon! Well done Sean!

Shane Branch got back into the trout action over the past couple of weeks and headed up to Eildon to fish the Pondage. Shane wasn’t disappointed, pulling out this whopper on powerbait which weighed a huge 5.2kg! Well done Shane!!

Chantel managed to land this lovely 42cm Murray cod while fishing the upper reaches of the Yarra River near Warrandyte. Chantel reports that she was using scrub worms for bait on a running sinker.

ANDERSONS INLET

Ashleigh and Suzanne fished Andersons Inlet with some perfect conditions. Once the berley kicked in, the pair was able to hold a school of mullet, trevally and scad under the boat which made for some great fun on the water. The mullet were cooked up that night and tasted delicious! Love ya work guys!

Alex Connelly and Ash Iredell have smacked some big reds this week while in the Spencer Gulf. Alex landed a nice pair of fish around 6kg and Ash landed this whopper of 11.4kg. The boys report some good success on jigs and also fresh mackerel baits.

Lee Mahon has been very successful on the Murray cod the past week while up at Mulwala. Lee has been fishing late afternoon into the night and has managed multiple fish around the 60cm mark all on cheese. Great work Lee!

Scott landed his PB flathead of 65cm while fishing near Fint and Steel Point on the Hawkesbury River. Scott was stoked when he brought this cracker aboard. Well done mate!
