EASTER HOLIDAY HOT SPOTS
LAKE TYERS
Lake Tyers is fishing exceptionally well for both flathead and bream. Land based guys have been having great success on flathead to 60cm while fishing at Fishermans Jetty on peeled prawn. There are quite a few tailor in the system which are great fun for the kids, but quite painful when you lose $30 lures each cast! Try 20-40gram Arma metal lures rigged with wire.

LORNE
There are good reports of King George whiting coming from the Lorne Pier the past couple of weeks. The whiting aren’t in massive numbers, but are all good sized fish. The calamari have also been thick under the lights of a night time. Try dark coloured squid jigs, either black or brown while fishing at night.

PORTLAND
The tuna continue to dominate the scene down at Portland with no shortages of fish around the 30m line east of Lawrence Rocks, but if you don’t have access to a boat this long weekend, the Lee Breakwall is fishing very well for snapper! Try floating out a big bait under a balloon for either a kingfish or shark roaming the area.

EILDON
It has been a very good season on the Murray cod and things haven’t slowed down at Eildon over the past couple of weeks. The Big River Arm is producing sizeable cod along with some quality brown trout. Bigger cod have been more situated down opposite the wall and guys have had most success trolling green coloured lures hard up in the structure. Try banging into trees and making noise to fire the cod up!

PHILLIP ISLAND
The surroundings of Phillip Island are fishing quite well and there are plenty of options! Woolamai is seeing good amounts of salmon to 750grams with guys producing the bulk of fish from the first beach on metal lures. There are some good schools of trevally kicking around Cowes Pier and the odd whiting has also been prevalent.
