The water temp is definitely getting lower and while there are still plenty of whiting to be had, many anglers are devoting their time to calamari. Quail Bank is fishing exceptionally well, gold and red foil jigs are working best on the incoming tide.

The mouth of the Tooradin Channel is continuing to see some good whiting, however anglers are having to work hard and move every 10 to 15 minutes. Squid is working well on the incoming tide, some quality rock flathead are also being landed in the shallows.

PORTLAND

img
Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters managed some quality fish on Saturday morning. As the wind picked up the fish seemed to fire up as well! If only it wasn’t massive swell for the remainder of the week!

img
The crew from Sharkmen Fishing Charters were able to land their bag before 11am on Saturday morning. Great stuff lads, right before the wind picked up!

img
Prior to the wild weather the bluefin tuna were in definite forces at Portland.
