Paul, Cristy, Jet and the IFISH team are currently exploring the wonderful part of the world, Kangaroo Island S.A. The newest member of the family, True Blue the Stabicraft has also traveled with the crew and is definitely being put through its paces! Kangaroo Island is home to some of the country’s best King George whiting along with a range of other species offshore including bluefin tuna and this pretty nanagui. Looking forward to hearing how the rest of the trip pans out, love ya work guys!

The deeper water out from Hastings produced the goods on Sunday as Andy Harding landed 20 fish with the biggest measuring 49cm! Great work Andy!

Chris Whitehead landed this big King George whiting from the pier at Warneet on Saturday night. Chris reports that squid was the bait of choice.

Shannon Knight and Jarryd Rossiter had a cracking night at Lang Lang this week. Fishing from the beach, Shannon and Jarryd managed 4 elephant fish and one beautiful gummy of around 10kg. The elephant’s were taken on pilchards and the gummy fell victim to a fresh mullet. Great effort land-based fellas!

Darren Bull picked up this beauty while fishing in glassed out conditions near Lang Lang on Anzac Day. Darren’s snapper weighed in at 6.5kg.

Good customer, Ash McMillan had a quick fish down at Jam Jerrup this week and despite the windy conditions, it was definitely worth his while. Here is Ash walking back down the beach with a table sized gummy and a quality snapper taken on yakka chunks.

Adam and Benedict showed their Mum, Dana how to catch some tasty flathead out from Corinella over the weekend. The group had a great session catching plenty of fish around 30cm.

Andrew Shortis and Jasin Tagell launched at Corinella on Sunday and bagged out on squid, gummies and also managed 10 beautiful whiting to make it a complete seafood platter. Love ya work fellas!

Saiychol landed these beautiful whiting up to 43cm on the run in tide while out from Sandy Point on Sunday. Saiychol was fishing with her husband, Simon when the action took place on pipi and squid cocktails.

Aaron Bickers landed this beautiful elephant fish while fishing out from Cape Woolamai on Sunday. You don’t often see too many elephants offshore so this one was quite a special catch!

Peter Grossi landed this quality gummy while fishing out from Altona on Monday night. Peter reports that she was taken on a freshly caught arrow squid.

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters reports that the Port Phillip snapper are still thick with plenty of fish stacked up in about 22m of water. A range of baits are working well as the fish are feeding up before the water temp drops too low.

Skid Davies headed out in search of some squid action and was not disappointed finding some quality cephalopods near Olivers Hill on Tuesday.

Amelia headed out with her father and grandfather on Sunday in hope of catching a feed of whiting. The plan seemed to fall into place as the trio bagged out on chunky whiting which took them no more than an hour to land.

Logan Vessey was stoked to land his very first fish, a grass whiting, while fish with his Dad, Steve from the St Helens Rocks in Corio Bay. Well done Logan!

PORTLAND

Matt Boulton from Fish On Charters is amongst the thick of things at Portland. Matt is finding plenty of tuna to 20 kg with a few albacore in-between. Various lures are working, but the smaller skirts seem to be the stand out.

Mitch Bertacchini from Online Fishing Charters smashed the Portland bluefin over the long weekend. Mitch reports that things can be a little tough at times with the amount of small bait around, however he has been able to tempt more than a few fish out of the thousands.

Matty Harris from Red Hot Fishing Charters reports that things are continuing to run smoothly down at Portland as he has been giving Simon Rinaldi a bit of a break to get the second boat ready. Matty has had no problems finding fish for his clients with multiple fish landed per trip.

The boys from Sharkmen Fishing Charters report the weather has been sensational at Portland and the fishing has been even better! There are still plenty of fish around the 30-50m mark but they are in their thousands near the Horseshoe.

Kaimen Hansler has been having good success while flicking surface lures at Devilbend this week. Kaimen managed this beautiful rainbow and a lovely little estuary perch. Surface fishing is such an awesome sight no matter what size fish you’re catching!

Blue Rock Lake is definitely becoming a renowned bass fishery in Victoria! Thorpdale and District Angling Club had a bass/trout comp at Blue rock and these were some beautiful little bass landed by president, Dave Johnson and his son Jacob. Well done fellas!

James fished down at Shallow Inlet on Monday and managed to land this fantastic pike along with some beautiful trevally and King George whiting. James’ pike measured 78cm.

Chris has been fishing the Mitchell River near Bairnsdale and landed a good feed of flathead to 45cm and quality bream of 35cm. Spider crabs and bass yabbies are proving the most effective baits.

Another big Victorian Sword! Congratulations to angler Matt Porter and crew on this 255kg Sword taken out of Lakes Entrance. Nearby, Chris Daniel had dropped one earlier but had the pleasure of jumping aboard Matt's boat to help lift the fish aboard. Well done to all involved!

Chloe Devitt officially won bragging rights over her boyfriend this weekend when she landed this cracking flathead at Lake Tyers on a live prawn. Chloe released this big girl back into the lake after a quick happy snap. Love ya work!

Good customer David Borninkhof has just returned from a trip of a life time fishing with ex Langwarrin local Scott Wauchope who owns and runs Humbug Fishing Charters. Dave fished with a few mates on the live-a-board and reports his best day was 40 Barra on the boat, the biggest going 118cm and plenty of fish cracking the magic one metre mark.
