PORTLAND
img

Our good friend Wayne Sharrock from Sharkmen Fishing Charters boated this beautiful barrel last Saturday. Rod Douglas was the lucky angler on the rod and the fish took a Pakula mouse in evil angel color. Great work guys!

img

Is Portland ever going to slow down?! This fish had to be carted by trolley because it was way too big to carry! Well done to Aaron Crocombe, Ryan Knight, Ben Ford and part time TW staff member Jesse Caulfield! This monster weighed a whopping 154kg.

img

Monster Tuna! Well done to Brad Parkinson, Greg Hurst, Luke Meli and Adam Mason who landed this massive beast of a fish! This is one of the biggest bluefin we have ever seen! She weighed in at a whopping 164.3kg, only 3kg off the line class record. Congrats to all involved in this mighty capture.

img

James Evans had a day to remember on Tuesday. James fueled up the boat at precisely 10:09am and then at 11:55am he boated this magnificent bluefin tuna of 104.4kg. Jamie was fishing just east of Lawrence Rocks when his reel started to smoke! Awesome fish James.

img

Paul Rebbechi headed out on Tuesday and while fishing in 50m of water he had a double hook up on barrels! Unfortunately Paul lost the other fish in the fight but this one weighed in at 100.6kg. Plenty of sashimi there!

img

Brad, Andrew and Daniel stumbled across a big one when they hooked into this cracker bluefin weighing in at 121.4kg. Well done fellas!

WESTERN PORT
TOP END
img

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters got amongst the early season snapper last Saturday afternoon while fishing the shallows in the top end of the Port. There is no lack of fish at the moment but patience and fresh bait is key to these cold water reds.

img
Jayson Turner also went on a mission Wednesday night and found some cracker fish. One fish went 82cm - 6.1kg, the other 80cm -5.3kg. He had another 6 or more that screamed off and weren't hooked that he will never ever know what size they were…..Just Big he said!
img

Leigh Easton stumbled across a couple of healthy snapper while fishing in glassed out conditions on Tuesday morning. Leigh reports that fresh squid was the key while fishing the run in tide. Great work mate.

PORT PHILLIP BAY
PATTERSON RIVER
img

Staff member Nathan Peterson snuck out again after work this week and managed to pull some quality bream from a few boat hulls inside the Patterson Lake system. Nath fished with good mates Dave and Dan and together the boys managed 10 bream to 37cm. All fish were taken on cranka crabs.

img

Corey landed this whopping 41cm bream while flicking soft plastics at Patterson River. The fishing at Patto has been sensational of late with a lot of big fish holding high in the system.

SOUTHERN PORT PHILLIP
img

Shaun Furtiere managed to put his clients onto some tasty calamari throughout the week. Shaun reports there is no lack of squid in both bays, but he has had to work a bit harder to find the bigger models. Great work Shaun..

AROUND THE STATE
PORTLAND
img

T-Dogg from the Bent Rod Squad sent through this photo and report from the insane session he had on the schoolies last week. T-Dogg was fishing between 50 and 80m and reports he has never seen so many in his life! Yellow and green skirts did the damage.

PORT FAIRY
img
Scotty Gray has been finding good numbers of gummies this week while bottom bouncing the reefs out from Port Fairy. As the weather starts to warm up we will start to see a few more school sharks being taken in the mix. Great work Scott.
TOOLONDO
img
Trevor Holmes from Victorian Inland Fishing Charters has packed his bags and headed to Fiji for 2 weeks but he managed to sneak out and put his client, Pete Kallinikos onto this lovely 3.2kg stonker! This was the only fish for the day but was definitely worth the hard work.
img
Geoff Stock has had his granddaughters Ishka-belle and Paisley out on Toolondo this week and found good numbers of browns. By the looks of these pics, the girls are teaching Geoff a thing or two about fishing. Some awesome looking fish! Well done girls.
LAKES ENTRANCE
img

The guys from Far Out Fishing Charters in Lakes Entrance got some clients onto some tasty pinkies and morwong this week. There has been plenty of action on the offshore reefs this week and will only continue to get better as we move into some warmer weather. .

AROUND THE COUNTRY
MURRAY RIVER
img

Sean, Wayne and Ian were up on the Murray last weekend having a ball feasting on crays and catching some lovely cod. The boys set out one night to check their pots and inside was this cracker little cod which they returned back to the water. Great work fellas!

NAROOMA
img
Greg and Anthony Torpy travelled up to Narooma for a week’s surf fishing with great weather and great results. Greg and Anthony managed to catch countless amounts of salmon each day with many of them around the 1kg mark and also a nice bream of about 1kg. Pilchard and bluebait were the best baits and the boys used plenty of berley.
img
Georgia and Jon Poyner had a hot session on the pinkies out from Narooma on Saturday. Together they landed 15 fish to about 3kg all on soft plastics.
