Paul and the IFISH TV crew have been on the Gold Coast this week filming a few episodes for the 2015 season. Amongst some offshore action, PW has landed some nice flathead, thumping whiting and mud crabs. He reckons it’s a cracker episode full of very simple fishing anyone can do!

Young Marcus fished with his dad last weekend at Coronet Bay, and landed a nice bag of King George whiting. The whiting in this area have been good on the runout tide; whiting worm has been working a treat.

TOORADIN

Good customer Nick fished out of Tooradin last Saturday night and landed this ripper gummy which went 13.5 kgs Nick reports that the fish was caught on the last of the run out tide using fresh yakka.

9yr old Charli fished with her dad and uncle up the top end of the Port this week and landed some nice whiting and a good sized gummy. Charli was pretty excited with her catch as you can see from the pic.

YARINGA

Patrick Keane landed his PB snapper last Friday night, weighing 7.2kg. Pilchards have been the preferred bait in Western Port this week.

MIDDLE SPIT
Steve Johnston from Ace Fishing Charters has been landing big numbers of whiting on the middle spit this week. Steve prefers the early morning bite with plenty of current. He reports fish between 35 & 43 cm this week taking pipi and mussel baits.

5 yr old JJ fished with his dad last weekend and landed his very first King George whiting. The fish are in good numbers on the Middle Spit. JJ landed 16 on his own and his dad just played bait boy. Pipi and whiting worm has been the standout bait for whiting.

Michael and Nicholas Andis had fun last Saturday with their dad Phil. They fished the run out tide at the top of middle spit landing some stonker whiting up to 42 cm between 3 meters and 11 meters of water along the drop offs. The choice bait was pipis.

SANDY POINT

Nicholas Bonetto fished with his dad Robby last Tuesday night and landed himself a PB gummy that went 13kg. The gummy took a fresh yakka chunk.

Scott McNab was flicking a plastic off Merricks during the week when the rod buckled. He eventually landed this nice gummy which was released after the pic. Scott says the gummy was mouth hooked which pulled during the fight but hooked mid flank below the dorsal fin, and he was able to get the fish in. Nice catch Scott!

Young Zach Lauder caught this cracker 2.4kg calamari out from Flinders last weekend. The calamari took a black colored Haramitsu jig in size 4.

Regular Tackle World Mornington customer Donny Duvae fished with mate Adam Hughes down on Mt Martha rocks this week and reports some very nice salmon in the area. This one went 1.2kg and put up a great fight on his recently repaired Shimano Sienna reel, fixed just in time by the Morno boys to get him out on a brilliant afternoon session.

There has been good numbers of snapper coming from Mt Martha this week. Steve landed this nice 4kg model in 20m of water on a pilchard, just on the tide change.

MORNINGTON

Wayne and his mate Ian fished the Mornington area last week. Starting at 3.30am, they landed 18 squid before venturing out to 20m where they landed a 74cm snapper, 53cm flathead, and many more flatties around the 35cm mark.

Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters has fished the Mt Eliza area this week and found good numbers of fish for his customers. Simon reports the early morning bite has been best. Pilchards the best bait.
Futurefish Foundation chairman Michael Buxton fished in 20m off MtEliza this week and found good numbers of snapper to 6 kg. Michael reports all fish went on pilchard, and there were a few around the 2 kg mark mixed in with bigger fish.

Wayne Sharrock from Sharkmen Fishing Charters has been fishing th 20m mark out from Frankston this week and reports good numbers of snapper to 5kg and he also landed a nice gummy last weekend in the same area. All fish are taking pilchards; plenty of berley is required to get the fish feeding.

Tackle World Cranbourne staff member Garry Norton fished the Patto last weekend and was randomly throwing a plastic. On his 8th cast, Gaz landed a nice Jewie. Not bad for middle of the day just walking the bank!

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters has been very successful this week on the snapper. With many charters now being for Xmas break ups, Jayson reports good numbers of fish out from Carrum deep ranging 2 to 5 kilos.

Jacob Bakker sent us this pic of a 2.3kg (62Cm) Blue Spot Flathead he caught in the north end of Swan Bay last weekend. He landed 2 of this size on whole squid heads. Trevally, whiting and Leather-jackets were also caught in good numbers.

Staff member Kallan and his old man headed to Noojee throughout the week. Whilst wading through the thick scrub and tight stream, the boys managed a dozen small browns and rainbows. Yozuri Pinns minnows were the stand out, along with dry flies.

The big duskies are still firing down at Lake Tyers which should make for some great fishing over the Xmas holidays. David Staal land this cracker measuring 88cm on a soft plastic this week.

The estuaries on the South NSW coast are really firing for dusky flathead. Daniel Buckley caught this flathead that reached the magic 1-metre mark on Mummaga Lake Wednesday evening, while Todd Ayers got a double header of very nice duskies earlier in the afternoon.

Same lake, different day! Brandon Cowley caught this mulloway in Mummaga Lake on 6lb braid and 8lb leader on a soft plastic. It went 90cm and took over 20 minutes to land. Dad Andrew says: "What a legend. Best day ever!"
