Chris Preston and John Macleod fished the Hastings area on Sunday and nailed 5 beautiful snapper and a 1m gummy shark. Fresh yakka strips were the fishes favourite on Sunday!

Warren Pearce landed his first big red while fishing in some superb conditions on Wednesday morning. Warren caught some fresh squid from the other side of town at Mt Martha and then turned them into this lovely 77cm snapper.

Felicity Antoniou went fishing with her boyfriend out from Corinella last week and showed him how things were done landing 3 snapper to his 1 trevally! Felicity’s fish weighed 1.5, 3 and 7kg respectively. It’s great to see the girls getting amongst the snapper action!

Young Brodie King finished equal 2nd in this year’s Tea Tree Competition when he landed this 7.48kg ripper! Brodie was fishing off Silverleaves when this big red fell victim to a silver whiting.

Staff members Lachy and Jesse made the most of the conditions on Wednesday and headed down to the Flinders pier in search of some of the big calamari on offer. The boys had a pretty successful day with some chunky cephalopods landed on Hayabussa squid jigs.

Chris and Michael O’Connell fished the Black Rock area on Sunday afternoon and the pair bagged out on fish between 3 and 4kg. Pilchards were the stand out bait with this one landed on a whiting snatcher!

The crew from Sharkmen Fishing Charters are continuing their good form for the season and found a good number of fish near the Ricketts Point area on Sunday.

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters reports there has been a good range of size to the fish out from Carrum this week. Pilchard and silver whiting have been the pick of the baits.

It was a tough weekend for the charter boys with the weather the way it was, but every time there has been a break in the weather, Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters has been smacking the big Melbourne reds.

The wind seemed to back off on Sunday afternoon and Matt Cini made the most of it and found some quality snapper out from Carrum. It has been great to see such a good caliber of fish being caught this season.

There are plenty of snapper to be had out from Carrum as Amber MacDonald found out on Saturday landing her very first of 4.1 and 5.2kg respectively. Pilchard and silver whiting are the stand out baits in the Bay at the moment.

Staff members, Zach and Jesse had a romantic afternoon down at Balcombe Creek this week. While fishing hand in hand, Zach and Jesse landed some beautiful bream on scrub worms. All fish were released.

Travis Inness and his daughter, Alana caught this Chinook Salmon off the floating pontoon at Bullen Merri on Sunday afternoon. According to Travis this salmon was hooked on a bent minnow when they saw the fish boil before them. It looks like Alana was pretty thrilled!

Raymond Hayne landed this lovely 68cm Murray cod while fishing in the Goulburn River near Nagambie. It is currently the cod closed season so this fish went straight back after a quick photo.

Staff member Paul Delisle headed over to North Island New Zealand for a 10 day getaway where he was able to sneak in a bit of a fish. Paul fished the Rotorua Lakes in some tough conditions where he learnt a method called Harling which is essentially towing wet flies behind the boat. The Harling method proved quite successful as Paul managed 5 beautiful trout between 1.5 and 2.66kg. Lovely fish mate!
