PORT PHILLIP BAY
CARRUM
img

Simon Rinaldi from Red Hot Fishing Charters is still picking up good quality snapper in Port Phillip Bay this week. Sounding around to find the fish is a must and once you have a couple of solid marks, get the berley going.

MORNINGTON
img

The first of the Mornington Pier king fish has turned up! Pav Michael landed this 58 cm model which quickly went back after a pic. It took a pilchard bait destined for a snapper at 2.30pm Monday.

img

Snapper continue to be found in good numbers off Mornington and Mt Martha. Trent Robinson landed these couple of beauties in 21m of water out from Mornington.

img

Spear fisherman Brett sent in this photo of a Flathead he speared during the week. With a discarded pair of sunglasses lodged around its body, it is a reminder of how important it is to take our rubbish home with us and not to throw anything in the water or leave it on the shore.

MT MARTHA
img
Matt Cini from Reel Time Charters has enjoyed some good fishing around Mt Martha this week with good numbers of smaller snapper which are ideal for the table.
QUEENSCLIFF
Good customer Glen Potter has been getting amongst some very nice sized squid around Queenscliff this week. Glen reports brown jigs have been productive and the IKA 3.0 #171 jig was the best. Glen has also picked up some nice trevally in the harbour on dusk.
AROUND THE STATE
EAST GIPPSLAND
img

Frank Milito from East Gippsland Charters has found some good bites from Estuary Perch and Bream this week. Most fish coming on soft plastics and a bit of hardbody lure fun, Frank says this summer will continue to be a good one for the estuary systems in East Gippsland.

BASS STRAIT
img
Dave Standing and Brendan Wing had one of the most insane BIG squid bites they have experienced this week while fishing in deep water offshore. The guys used dropshot rigs to get the jigs down to the desired depths and had so many aggressive squid around that they actually were picking them up on the sounder.
