Staff members, Jesse and Don had a successful day on the Port last Thursday fishing near Esso and young Jesse boated his PB snapper of 5kg on a squid ring. Well done mate.

It’s great to see that with everyone’s attention focused on the snapper, Shaun Furtiere from Think Big Fishing Charters switched over to the whiting and produced some quality fish in the windy conditions on Tuesday.

Mason Shulze fished with a crew of 5 good mates last week and had an epic session landing fish between 3 and 6kg throughout the night. Mason sounded around the reef edges until he found some solid arches and got them biting on pilchards.

Chris O’Connell picked up this lovely Melbourne snapper as the sun set last Wednesday. Chris reports that half a pilchard on a snapper snatcher was the rig and bait of choice.

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters has been doing plenty of miles in the boat this week to ensure putting his customers onto some beautiful Melbourne snapper. Matt reports that the northern parts of the bay are fishing quite well.

Mordialloc fished quite well this week with good numbers of fish around 4kg. Here is a pigeon pair landed in some less than favourable conditions on fresh squid.

Mitch Bertacchini from Online Fishing Charters had plenty of success finding some quality snapper for some happy clients over the weekend. Mitch reports that the fishing has been so good that even Melbourne dumpling connoisseur, Jarrod Day even managed a fish or two.

The boys from Sharkmen Fishing Charters are reaping the rewards with big snapper so far this season! The bonus of having a big vessel means that Sharkmen can get out in some ordinary conditions and that is often when the big ones like to play!

Ahmad Elmustapha came down to sunny old Melbourne from Sydney for the long weekend. He and a few mates headed out from Mornington and had this snapper peeling line off his reel right on sunrise! Awesome catch Ahmad!

Mornington staff member Harry Bould headed out on the kayaks last week with good customer Kevin O'brien. The boys bagged on reds in 8m of water off Mt Martha. Fuze Triple Tail soft plastics have been working a treat on the snapper!

On Saturday, gun fishergirl, Amelia headed out from Portarlington with her father in search of her first snapper of the season and wasn’t disappointed landing this beauty on a squid head caught earlier. Great work Amelia!

Cliff Meddings managed this chunky 50cm flathead while drifting in about 10m of water out from Point Cook. There’s a couple of solid tails on that one!
