Paul had the pleasure of fishing with Mad Hueys representative, Captain Blackbeard on the NSW coast where the pair filmed an episode of land based fishing for luderick before things turned pear shaped and Blackbeard was shipped off to hospital! The boys did however manage to sneak in some quality fishing before the session was interrupted!

The Warneet pier has been producing good numbers of calamari on the high tides the last couple of weeks. The water is still dirty, so darker jigs have been a stand out.

Shaun Furtiere from Think Big Fishing Charters was back in the action this week keeping his customers happy with some more feeder gummys. Winter snapper were the main target, but this gummy was a close second!

The southern part of Western Port has been littered with squid lately and Caleb Eagles made the most of it and landed this beautiful specimen from the Flinders Pier. Great work Caleb!

It’s great to see some chunky flathead getting around the bay of late. This 51cm model was taken in 9m of water out from Werribee.

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters is making the most of the abundances of squid throughout the bay and has put some happy clients onto some tasty calamari. Hayabussa squid jigs getting the job done yet again. Great work Matt!

Jason Fairbridge took home a fantastic feed when he landed this 7.7kg snapper and tasty gummy while out from Barwon Heads this week. Love ya work Jason!

EILDON

Part time staff member and good friend of the shop, Paul Delisle cracked the meter mark after landing this monster cod at Eildon over the weekend. Paul has spent many hours and days at Eildon the past year and it is great to see him pull out such a beautiful fish. Paul’s son Rex and number one fishing partner did an excellent job of netting this beast! Paul’s success came while trolling a large stump jumper.

This just goes to show how well things are going since Devilbend opened for fishing. Shane Branch landed this stonker of a brown trout weighing 7 pound…what a cracker! We certainly have a top class trout fishery right on our doorstep!

ANDERSON INLET

Members of the Cranbourne Angling Club ventured down to Andersons Inlet over the weekend and had a field day landing bulk amounts of salmon between 800g and 1.5kg. Stretch Vyverberg cleaned up with this lot.

MITCHELL RIVER

Dave Johsnon took the family down to the Mitchell River for the Thorpdale and District Angling Club’s bream comp which they all competed in and did quite well. John’s wife, Jess took out the female section with her 41cm stonker, while Dave’s daughters, Mieka and Casey both landed some respectable fish.

Matthew and Josephine were happy with their catches from the jetty while holidaying at Fraser Island. Matthew’s jewfish was his very first and was a definite respectable size of 85cm.

Jason Smith form Cranbourne Angling Club had his arms full with this monster cobia landed on a recent trip to Swains Reef weighing in at 26.5kg.

Roslyn Shelly from the Venus Bay Angling Club and her Nephew, Adam landed this monster cod together while fishing off the coast of Port Douglas. Roslyn also reports her brother in law, Mick also landed some beautiful nannygai.
