TUNA
PORTLAND
img

img
Well done to Simon Rinaldi, Matty Harris and the rest of the crew aboard Red Hot this week who boated not one, but two monster barrels on Sunday. The first fish was a part of a double hook up where one reefed them, but not to worry, the boys got another chance not long after boating the first fish. They weighed in at 131 and 101kg respectively. Well done guys!

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters took out plenty of happy customers this week who were pleased to land their bag of bluefin tuna.

img
Amy Jobson and Robbie Adamo fished in close off the lighthouse at Portland and landed this insanely big bluefin that weighed in at 150kg! It appears as though a Pakula Evil Angel was the skirt of choice for Amy and Robbie. Congratulations guys!

Another Portland barrel landed by Jamie Peel and crew weighing 130kg. They are here!

APOLLO BAY
img
The Victorian Game Fishing Club held their annual Apollo Bay Tuna Classic on the weekend with plenty of fish caught. All up, 26 boats fished the comp with just under 30 fish tagged and a few weighed in. The winning fish went 103.4kg and was caught by Mitch Wood. Well done Mitch, nice fish!

EDEN
img
Good customers, David Borninkhof and Tam Missen took the kids up to Eden over the weekend and as always they were out fished by the young ones! Here is Shaye Borninkhof with a beautiful albacore taken on the troll.

BERMAGUI
img
Staff member Scotty Harper and good mates Colin Nickless and Wayne boated these cracking tuna while trolling Bonze "D Shackles" and "The Heat" lures up at Bermagui over the weekend. The fishing was fairly tough at Bermi this week and the boys were one of only a few boats that found fish. Great work guys!

WESTERN PORT
TOP END

Young Isabella was over the moon when she got to hold her Step Dads beautiful gummy from the weekend. It will have to be your turn next Isabella!

TYABB BANK
img
Nice squid taken by Dave Osmond over the weekend on the Tyabb Bank. Well done Dave. It's definitely that time of year for the big ones!

CORINELLA
img
Cam Jackson from the Bent Rod Squad fished in some spring like conditions this week and was rewarded with this beautiful 7.4kg snapper. After spending some time sounding, Cam found some solid arches which was converted into this cracker with some help from a freshly caught squid head. After a quick happy snap, this fish was released to fight another day.

SANDRINGHAM
img

Anthony Torpy got stuck into a big school of garfish while fishing from the Sandy Breakwall on Tuesday afternoon. All of Anthony’s fish were landed on silverfish.

RICKETTS POINT
img

Staff members, Kallan and Zach headed out for a pinky session before work on Friday and were pleased to land in excess of 40 fish all on soft plastics. Most fish were pushing to be legal, however there were a few decent fish around to 35cm. Fuze triple tails and squidgy flickbaits were the plastics of choice.

ST LEONARDS
img
Last Thursday, Amelia headed out from St Leonards with her father and grandfather in the hope to bring some whiting back home for tea. The trio were pleased with their efforts landing 30 good whiting on the start of the flood tide. Mussel and fresh squid were the stand out baits.

AROUND THE STATE
YARRAWONGA
img
Chris Slevison reports he has been nailing some quality yellowbelly up at Yarrawonga of late with multiple fish measuring over 45cm. Chris reports that a handful of worms has been his key to success along with the good flow from the weir stirring the water up.

WOOLAMAI
img

Brian and Scott Rinaldi fished down at Woolamai on Sunday and were able to land over 20 salmon and some rather large mullet. Great stuff lads!

KILCUNDA
img

While fishing for salmon at Kilcunda throughout the week, Shaun Knight landed this chunky 70cm+ flathead. There is a couple of quality tails off that one Shaun!

img
Dana Cihelka and her two boys, Adam and Benedict managed some more quality salmon at Kilcunda on Saturday. Blue bait and surf poppers are the trio’s go to technique.

HOLLANDS LANDING
img
Sandringham Angling Club had a successful trip down to Gippsland last weekend with a good number of anglers targeting some beautiful black bream. Well done to Matthew Bailey who landed this 1.7kg cracker on sandworm.

LAKE TYERS
img

Pandelis and his mate Tolly headed to Lake Tyers over the weekend in search of some flatties, however with the state of the water, the pair packed the lures and soft plastics away and targeted some bream successfully on peeled prawn. Pandelis and Tolly managed their bag of bream which ranged from 28-33cm. The boys decided to pack up and venture back down the road to Bemm River which was well worth the trip and landed plenty more good bream with the biggest measuring 41cm. Good stuff boys.
