PAUL'S FISHING
img
The Worstelings have enjoyed a holiday with no film crew for the first time in a while. They visited the Cook Islands and while fishing wasn’t their main priority, they did enjoy some amazing bone fishing as a family. Cristy and Paul hooked and landed a few while Jet Reef managed to hook a couple but didn’t quite manage to land any, although he got a huge buzz out of holding and releasing these amazing fish.
WESTERN PORT
TOORADIN
img
Young Mitch caught his pb whiting of 41cm while fishing the Tooradin Channel this week. The crew finished with 15 whiting and also landed 3 squid on the Tyabb Bank using Shimano Sephia 14T jigs.
YARRINGA
Staff members Neil Drummond and Kallan Braid-Ball fished with Greg Duncan out of Yarringa chasing King George Whiting. It didn’t take them long to find fish. Between the group of customers on board they managed to land 90 fish.
MIDDLE SPIT
img

Jovan Pageot and mates fished the Middle Spit during the week and landed some thumping King George Whiting to 45cm. The guys report fresh squid and pipis were the best baits on the day.

HASTINGS
img

Shaun Furtiere and the clients of Think Big Charters have enjoyed some fantastic whiting fishing in Western Port again this week. Shaun has found a few patches where he has even been able to sound them they are that thick.

CLELAND BIGHT
img

Kyle Tapscott caught this cracking flathead on Saturday. It was caught on a half pilchard bait and measured 72cm.

PORT PHILLIP BAY
PORTSEA
img

Plenty of quality sized southern calamari are coming in from right down the Mornington Peninsula including land based. Squid to 1kg are coming from Portsea pier and Matt Cini and crew are finding good numbers from Mornington to Sorrento.

SORRENTO
img
Apart from some patches of heavy rain, Matt Cini and crew from Reel Time Charters have found some very nice whiting in southern Port Phillip Bay this week. Pipi, mussel and squid have been stand out baits.
TOOTGAROOK
img

Daniel picked up his first gummy on Browns Reef off Tootgarook on Wednesday. It took a strip of octopus.

MORNINGTON
img

Will Antypas caught this 3kg snapper fishing structure in the bay. It was caught just before low tide and took a whole pilchard.

img

9 year old William landed this 43cm flathead while fishing out from Mornington during the week.

img
Peter Ritchie got amongst some very nice Australian Salmon in his kayak around Mornington using unweighted soft plastics. Some of the salmon caught were over 50cm.
Mornington Pier is fishing well for pinkies and squid and as more of it becomes accessible for anglers, the fishing should improve even further. Using small 1.8 and 2.0 sized squid jigs have been the preferred method for anglers targeting calamari as the shallow weed and rocky beds hold good numbers.
WERRIBEE
img
Trent Woods caught this 5.5kg Gummy Shark while fishing in 14m of water off Werribee South.
INDENTED HEADS
img
10 year old Athan Illiopoulos with his biggest ever snapper. He landed a 6kg and a 5kg snapper fishing deep off Indented Heads.
ST LEONARDS
img

James McGrath fished off St Leonards during the week and landed a 4kg snapper on the run in tide. This fish took a squid head.

AROUND THE STATE
OFFSHORE
img

Dave Standing and friends have been getting stuck into some magnificent Yellowtail Kingfish all week on a variety of methods. Topwater, jigging and live baiting have all worked a treat for the crew. Shimano Orca and Head Dip stick baits worked well.

img
Customers Jamie and Milena Kermici have also been amongst good sized kingfish offshore this week. Slimeys, yakkas and squid are the pick of the live baits and most lure techniques are working well also.
img

Brendan Wing has had plenty of Shimano Orca stick baits inhaled by hungry kingfish this week while they have been fishing in Bass Strait.

CORNER INLET
img
12 year old Jacob Johnson and his mate Jack Edebohls with a 63cm flathead and 44cm whiting they caught while fishing in Jacobs dads boat this week at Corner Inlet.
MALLACOOTA

img

YARRAWONGA
img

Paul DeLisle and son Rex spent a few days fishing the Murray River near Yarrawonga and had some great success catching Murray Cod and over 40 Yellowbelly for the trip. Yabbies did most of the damage while paddle tail soft plastics also accounted for plenty of fish.

EILDON
img
Michael Cincotta fished at Lake Eildon during the week and landed this very nice Yellowbelly using a Jackall TN50. Casting up on to the edges then slowly rolling it down is a great method for catching big yellas.
img
Andy McCarthy and his mate Cameron Webb have been fishing Lake Eildon over the past week and report good cod fishing. While out last Friday, they helped another angler land this cracker 110cm Cod. A fish of a lifetime for the lucky angler!
