The Worsteling’s are having a ball on their family adventure while in the pristine waters and immaculate beaches of Aitutaki. Paul, Cristy and Jet all landed the elusive bonefish each and it was then topped off with this cracking GT on the flats! There is just something about wading the flats in gin clear water that has us all feeling a bit envious. Love ya work guys!

There were plenty of gummy’s and whiting coming aboard Shaun Furtiere’s Think Big Fishing Charters this week with quite a few of the whiting hitting the mid 40cm mark. Keep em coming Shaun!

Ruby Fitzmaurice headed out with her Dad last Thursday and landed these 40cm fatso whiting before the storm hit. Dad also managed a lovely 1.5m gummy to top off the trip.

Coco and Austin caught these chunky king George whiting off Somers while fishing with parents, Hugh and Kristie Greer. There are some big fillets on those ones! Love ya work kids!

Justin Blythe took out his brother in law this week and gave him a fair taste of what land based gummy fishing has to offer! The pair fished the entire rising tide and were rewarded with 3 big gummys which took a liking to their fresh trevally and squid offerings. Well done boys.

Simon Rinaldi and Matty Harris from Red Hot Fishing Charters produced some good numbers of snapper yet again this week. The boys report that there is a good array of fish between Carrum and Mornington.

Jayson Turner from Pro Red Fishing Charters reports good bags of snapper are still prevalent spread from Carrum down to Mt Eliza. Pilchard and silver whiting have been the best baits this week for Jayson.

Matt Cini from Reel Time Fishing Charters switched tactics this week and began targeting some beautiful whiting along the peninsula with plenty of success. It’s been a strong season on the whiting thus far and hopefully it is only going to get better!

The crew from Sharkmen Fishing Charters have been fishing the Mt Martha area this week and came across some better sized snapper of about 4kg. It’s good to see the boys continuing their great from!

Matthew Higgins headed for a fish Thursday night out from Rosebud in search of a gummy, Matt was not disappointed when this big girl buckled his rod over! Matthew was using salmon as his choice of bait, lovely catch Matt!

Ryan and Shane hit the Pondage last week and had success both trolling and casting to Barra they sounded up. Many anglers are enjoying the holidays down at Hazelwood and the fish are wide spread throughout the Pondage now.

PORTLAND

We are seeing plenty of bluefin tuna being caught at Portland of late and the size of the fish has been quite respectable. Most fish seem to be schooled up in the North Shore area.

A few big kingfish are hanging around the Portland area too with most anglers finding success along the North Shore.

PORT FAIRY

There’s some big sharks being caught down the west coast and here is a prime example! Steve Dodd landed this absolute beast while fishing out of Port Fairy on Wednesday. 291.8kg what a beast!

Plenty of tuna are being caught out from Port Fairy and customers aboard Salty Dog had their hands full on the light gear.

YARRAWONGA

6year old Mayson Anastasovski was fishing from the bank at Lake Mulwala in Yarrawonga and landed this absolute stonker of a Murray Cod! Fantastic catch Mayson!

MURRAY RIVER

Bryan Dowel ventured up to the Murray and while fishing in a skinny arm near a place called Bourke’s Track, Bryan was able to land this beautiful 76cm cod on cheese. Great work Bryan.

INVERLOCH

Nathan Riley and his daughter Lexi had a fantastic session on the whiting while fishing the top end of Anderson’s Inlet. Nathan reports that pumping bass yabbies before they headed to their spot paid off.

While fishing inside Port Welshpool in some superb conditions, Tony Cooper and Ian Miles landed this tasty gummy and snapper on Saturday. Great to see plenty of people made the most of the great weather!

Jozef Sulja and his father fished Metung these holidays and caught plenty of tailor trolling small hard body lures. Jozef even managed two on the one lure! The boys report that the tailor are there by the truck load, great job guys!

Annie landed her very first bream while fishing in the Mitchell River using sand worm as bait. Annie was quite happy with her catch!

Jason Ramage fished at Lake Tyers this week and landed this cracking 83cm dusky flathead while out on his kayak. According to Jason his fish also had a smaller 33cm flathead stuck down It's gob which he had to remove to get his lure back! Cool stuff mate, well done!

The marlin have begun to show up off Bermagui this week! Nikko landed this lovely striped while aboard C-ROMA. Well done mate!

MONTAGUE ISLAND

Regular customer Pat Nolan and good friend Alex headed up to the East Coast for the Christmas break and were able to shoot out to Montague Island where they got themselves onto their first kingfish. The boys managed 3 rat kings but also lost a much larger fish under the boat.

Plenty of kingfish are being caught out from Narooma with Montague Island being the hot spot. Live baits and metal jigs are working the best.

DARWIN

Staff member David Kramer has just returned from a week in Darwin and fished with his son in-law Paul for a few nice Barra in Leaders Creek. David reports unbelievable rains are falling in the NT and the locals say they are finally having a real wet season. The Barra fishing should be insane after the wet!
