ChIPs ALI Program
Applications Due May 22

Inspiring the Next Generation

Do you know a young woman in high school who is interested in visiting a Federal Courthouse? Sit in on a class at UC Hastings School of Law? And would like to know what Intellectual Property “IP” is?  Invite them to apply to the ChIPs ALI Program, held June 20 and 21st in Silicon Valley!

As part of its mission, ChIPs seeks to motivate, train and provide opportunities to the next generation of women leaders in technology, law, and policy. In furtherance of this mission, ChIPs is pleased to announce the ChIPs Advocacy Leadership & Innovation (ALI) Program. Hear what some of our 2016 ALI program participants said:

“I feel that I have gained a greater understanding of the legal system and IP, and am now considering a career in either of these fields. You and the other women we talked to inspire me to work and follow my dreams.”

“My favorite part of the shadow program was viewing Judge Koh's courtroom in the morning because I was fascinated to see the actual processes of setting dates and sentencings, as well as seeing the attorneys and the actual defendants. It made the situation so much more real, and it inspired me because all of a sudden I realized that these attorneys were helping real people and changing lives.”

Thank you to Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe for sponsoring, as well as to Karen Johnson-McKewan, Shashi Deb and Judge Susan Illston and Magistrate Judge Sallie Kim for their involvement.
