When you hear the words “spiritual discipline” do you think of something religious or spiritual?

It can be both. If a religious ritual is done with an understanding of the spiritual principles and purpose behind it, it is a spiritual discipline.

Otherwise, the ritual becomes an empty practice that remains dull and mechanical.

In my latest article, The highest spiritual discipline, I describe how the practice of worship to a divine higher power is a much needed stepping-stone toward achieving our ultimate spiritual goal of oneness with the Self within.

People tend to compartmentalize religion and spirituality, thinking they are very different paths. But in The highest spiritual discipline, I explain how one leads to the other.

Why is this so? How is worship of the divine connected to the Self? It’s an important concept that every serious spiritual seeker must understand because in the final stage of our journey, God and the Self will merge as one and we will experience it as our own true blissful Self. Read more here.

In my upcoming summer retreat from August 12-14, 2022, I will be bringing up this vital understanding between God and spirituality.

This retreat will be an opportunity for you to take a deep dive into some fundamental spiritual concepts and practices that will transform your life.

My goal and wish is for every participant to leave with a greater understanding and a solid plan for their daily spiritual practice.

Before the start of the retreat, I will be organising a couple of on-line sessions where attendees can get to know each other. So, when we get to the retreat, we will already know each other and be comfortable discussing and learning together.

I am looking to forming a spiritual community—I do hope you will be able to join in!

I have many things planned—there will be laughter yoga Bollywood style, yoga, meditation, Qi Gong, a campfire, fresh vegetarian meals and lots of time enjoying the natural beauty of the retreat centre.
