Are you a student on a games-related course who is over 18? We’re looking for students to volunteer at the Festival of Play, taking place on Friday 8 July at the Guildford Pavilion and Wednesday 13 July at HOST Salford. Festival of Play is a brand-new creative careers and Computing conference for school pupils aged 8-15, showcasing the breadth and depth of roles available in the UK games industry.

Volunteers will play a valuable role in advocating for the study of STEAM subjects. It will be a fun event packed with workshops, talks, activities, live music and games, and a brilliant opportunity to network with the games studios and companies involved.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Help attendees navigate the event

  • Answer simple questions about the event (where things are and when)

  • Talk to the attendees about your studies and career ambitions!

This is an amazing opportunity to get involved with as your first volunteering event and will look brilliant on your CV! Plus, your travel expenses and lunch will be provided - so why not get involved?

If you'd like to volunteer at the festival, please sign up here!

If you have any questions about the event or volunteering at all, please don't hesitate to get in contact!

💖 Code Coven Create: The Solstice Program - This is an incubator-style initiative that supports multiple small teams of developers as they create a prototype focused on social impact. Over the course of 12 weeks, teams will take their prototype from concept to completion. Code Coven staff will be offering scope advice and roadmap guidance at each milestone check-in.

By the end of the program, teams can look forward to publishing a small and polished prototype to use as a portfolio piece, to approach funding initiatives for future opportunities, or as the beginning of a longer development timeline.
