Online pre-registration is open now at, and will be available until Friday, February 10 at 8:00 p.m. Pre-registration determines the order in which you’ll register for 2017–2018 classes on Friday, February 24. Your registration slot is based on the date/time that the online form is submitted, and your status at Community Preschool (Current Family, Alumni Family, New Family). Since our classes fill up quickly, we strongly encourage everyone to pre-register and reserve a spot in line. However, if you do not pre-register online you can still come at 11:00 a.m. on February 24 and register after the pre-registered families.


Registration will take place on Friday, February 24.

If you pre-register, you will receive an email with your assigned arrival time. Otherwise, you are welcome to arrive at 11:00 a.m.

Download the 2017–2018 Registration Packet (pages 1–5). You can print it and fill it in by hand, or use Adobe Acrobat Reader to fill in the information digitally, print it, and add your signatures ( We also have printed copies available in the hallway for you.

Be sure to bring your checkbook for your $70 non-refundable registration fee, and two printed photos of your child (2" x 3" recommended).

Changes for the 2017–2018 School Year

Due to increasing costs, the board recently voted to increase the tuition rate at Community Preschool as of the 2017–2018 school year. The current rate is $3.50 per hour, and it will be increased to $4.00 per hour. If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact our President, Hanna.

Beginning next Fall, Mrs. Martinez’s Afternoon 4s Class will have the assistance of a co-teacher, and will require only one parent-helper per class. Therefore, the tuition for this class will be slightly higher at $4.50 per hour. If your family is unable to offer as much time to volunteer for parent-helping, this might be a good option for you.

Tour Community Preschool

If you or anyone you know would like to see what Community Preschool is all about, RSVP to tour the preschool. Tours are happening every Wednesday in February at 10:00 am. 

Call 970-669-4323 or contact Ms. Tammy to reserve a spot on the tour at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays!

2017–2018 Board Election Results

The election for the 2017–2018 board members is now complete.

Our new officers are as follows:

4th Quarter Tuition Due

Tuition for the fourth quarter is due by Friday, February 10, 2017. Please place your tuition payment in the Treasurer’s lock box, located on the northwest wall in the main school hallway. Make checks payable to “Community Preschool” and add your child’s name and class in the memo of the check to ensure correct credit to your account.

Contact the treasurer Emily M. with any questions about tuition. If you are having difficulty with paying tuition according to the schedule, please contact us immediately. We are willing to work with you, but it is best to have a plan before tuition is due and late fees are incurred.

Pancake Breakfast/Silent Auction Teacher Baskets

The Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction is coming up on Saturday, March 4 from 8:30–10:30 a.m.

As part of the Silent Auction, we will offer a themed basket from each teacher’s students. We ask that families donate an item that fits your teacher’s theme to be inc
luded. This year the basket themes will be as follows:
  • Ms. Jodie: Cooking Fun
  • Mrs. Martinez: Family Travel
  • Miss Jill: Family Fun Night
A basket to collect items will soon be placed outside each classroom door. Place your donation items there!

Introducing Our Student Teacher and Parent Volunteer

Ms. Shauna will be student-teaching (mostly in Mrs. Martinez’s class) one to two times a week. She comes to us from AIMS Community College.

Also, Ms. Michale, a parent and former teacher herself, will be volunteering in Mrs. Martinez's afternoon class.  

If you have a chance, please introduce yourselves and welcome these women to our preschool.

3s Class Openings

We are currently registering for openings in the following class for 2016–2017:

  • Miss Jill’s Tuesday/Thursday 3s from 9:00–11:30 a.m.

If you are interested in registering, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact the 2s/3s Class Coordinator, Emily W., and request the Registration Packet for 2016–2017.
  2. Complete the 2016–2017 Registration Packet. (Pages 6–8 including the Student Health Record, Certificate of Immunization, and Addendum MUST be completed AFTER June 1, 2016.)
  3. Be prepared to pay the non-refundable $70 non-refundable registration fee and the current quarter’s tuition.

We also maintain a waiting list for each class, and you are welcome to contact the class coordinator to add your name in case an opening occurs. ***Please note that our class for ages 2.5 is full, and there is a substantial waiting list. ***

We need 48 hours from the time that you submit the registration paperwork and tuition payment to process your child’s enrollment, and for the teacher to prepare for your child to attend class.

Beth Epley, storyteller extraordinaire, will be at school on February 21 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and February 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Scholastic Book Orders

Each month you have an opportunity to purchase affordable books for your child through Scholastic. It is a great program and each book you purchase earns points for Community Preschool to purchase educational materials and books for the classrooms.

The next book order will be due by Friday, February 24.

Go to and create an account with the code GWCML. If you prefer, you can complete a paper order and turn it in at preschool. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Tammy.

Easy, Everyday Fundraising

You can help raise funds simply by purchasing products you use anyway.

Buy a gift card for King Soopers or Safeway for $5. (The beginning balance is $5.) Add to the balance and use it whenever you shop, and the school receives 5% back from your purchases, including groceries and gas. Consider getting cards for family and friends, and their purchases will also benefit Community Preschool.

Save your Morning Fresh Dairy milk caps and drop them in the collection box at school. We earn $50 for every 1,000 milk caps collected.

Purchase a Papa Murphy’s pizza coupon card for $10 and use it for great dinner discounts.

Save a bookmark for, and use it when you shop on Amazon. Then 0.5% of your purchases will come back as a donation to our school.

If you’d like to purchase a grocery card for either King Soopers or 
Safeway, or a Papa Murphy’s pizza coupon card, you can email our Development Coordinator, or ask one of the teachers.
