Supporters raise astounding $109,000 at TCH's 107th Annual Luncheon

The results are in: our 107th Annual Luncheon brought in an astonishing $109,000 from individuals and sponsors! This gift will help us continue to serve brave individuals like Aziz Ahmad—the former U.S. Army interpreter and TCH client who spoke so passionately at Wednesday's event—on their journeys.

If you attended the luncheon, we hope you'll wear your new TCH button proudly, share the story of its origin with family and friends, and continue the conversation of making Tacoma a Welcoming Community.

On behalf of the TCH family, THANK YOU for helping provide our students and clients with empowering Education, Employment, Immigration and Advocacy programs.

We encourage you to visit our website to learn more about our work (; follow us on social media; and re-watch our inspiring video below.

Our sincerest gratitude,
Tacoma Community House

If you did not attend the luncheon, please consider making a contribution!

Your gift will support crucial programs for the 3,500 South Sound residents we serve each year.

Our own Liz Dunbar will speak at this UWT event on Thursday, April 27 (5:30-7pm) at the University Y Student Center on Market Street. Don't miss an important conversation on what federal immigration reforms could mean for our economy, education system, and Tacoma as a whole.

Nation's most well-known undocumented immigrant leaves an impression on Tacoma

On Thursday, April 6, Pulitzer prize-winning journalist and Define American founder Jose Antonio Vargas visited our humble City of Destiny. TCH partnered with the University of Puget Sound and Humanities Washington to bring Vargas to Tacoma to speak on his experiences as an undocumented person living in hyper-visibility, educating folks around the country that no human being is "illegal."

During his short stay, Vargas managed to talk one-on-one with an intimate group of UPS students and the TCH staff, host an hour-long lecture in front of a crowd of 300+, and film an in-depth interview with KCTS9.

Upon returning home, Vargas recorded a special message for students at Keithley Middle School after their teacher requested it during the Q&A portion of Vargas's lecture. Watch Vargas's message to the school's undocumented kids (and those with undocumented parents) here.
