A Switzerland-based Rally team supporting Yarra Foundation

The Allgäu - Orient Rally team is going to raise fund for a Yarra Foundation project. They have been organizing annual charity rally events on the border of Jordan since 2006. The initial aim of the rallies was to direct donations to the charitable organizations helping local communities in Jordan. For this year's rally, organisers changed the usual rally destination due to the civil war in the area. They chose the capital city of Iran, Tehran, as the new destination which is currently safe and offers new adventures and challenges.
The project proposed by Yarra Foundation is to support Mahmoud Abad House of Children* in Iran.
The rally will start on April 30th, 2016 at 8:00am.
You can find out more about this event here.
*Mahmoud Abad is a small village that is extremely disadvantaged, although it is very close to Tehran. Most of people in this village work in brick factories and live in absolute poverty. The village do not even have access to sanitation and clean water. The villagers are mostly refugees from Afghanistan who do not have visa and therefore their children do not have free access to public schools. Pouyesh is an NGO that runs a school for this village providing primary and secondary education for 150 students.

Yarra Foundation and Iranian Bushwalkers volunteers supported the event and the 100km team during the event. The biggest achievement of this campaign was to show that “We Can”. Staying together, hand in hand, all as one team, we can.
