From the Director's Desk

Well, you all kept telling wait until after Round-Up to get really started with any new initiatives at the Chamber. Now I know why, WOW! Growing up in Montana going to rodeos and being responsible for annual PRCA and PBR events while at the Laughlin, Nevada Chamber, I thought I had reasonable expectations for Round-Up week. Honestly, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Round-Up week was so much more than anything I expected. From the parades to PBR to the Indian Village and Happy Canyon to the actual Round-Up performance, Pendleton knows how to throw a party.
 
The Round-Up’s opening ceremony was the most magnificent I’ve ever witnessed! The multigenerational fathers and sons, mothers and grandmothers, and on made it different and exquisite. And then thinking about the thousands of volunteers coming together each year to make everything happen and come together, stunning! I am grateful to live in a community with so much heart, dedication and commitment. Thank you for allowing me to experience Round-Up 2018.
 
Now that it is quieted down and bit and life is back to normal after Round-Up, Cheri Rosenberg-Hadden – the Chamber’s Membership Coordinator – and are still out meeting with you and getting to know in your business. We are also educating you about the Chamber’s core competencies and how we are working in each competency for you and your business. These competencies are: Creating a stronger local economy; Promoting the community; Providing relationship building opportunities and business connections: Representing the interests of business with government.

Otherwise, you run the risk of us just stopping by to meet you and introduce ourselves. We really are committed to being in each of our members business by the end of the year.
 
Please join us at the Pendleton Convention Center for this month’s Kick It Up after 5 on October 11th, 5:15 to 7:00 pm. In addition to a new Chamber Executive Director, there is a new catering service at the Convention Center named C.G. Catering and Events who will be featured and serving scrumptious appetizers for you to enjoy. Lots of exciting things happening in Pendleton!
 
Be on the lookout in your mail for the 2019 First Citizens nomination form. This year’s prestigious banquet is scheduled for January 18, 2019, at Wildhorse Resort & Casino . Nomination forms along with the supporting documents are due to the Chamber office by December, 28, 2018. Don’t miss your chance to nominate your candidate(s) for “Woman of the Year”, “Man of the Year”, Business of the Year, and of any of the Business Excellence Awards in Tourism, Customer Service, Boss of the Year, Employee of the Year.

WE SURVIVED!! Yet another great year of our awesome Pendleton Round-Up, Happy Canyon and PBR events. As you are all aware this could not be done without YOU! We could not be more proud to partner with so many amazing businesses that not only understand but help facilitate community involvement.

As we head into the final quarter there are lots of exciting things happening here at the Chamber. We are continuing our site visits each day, we are looking at membership, the benefits and how we can be even better. Revamping old programs and beginning new ones.

We are in the beginning stages of a variety of collaborations with numerous local businesses that we are extremely excited about! As the holiday season approaches be looking for different fun activities that will be coming your way.

63rd Annual First Citizens Banquet & Business Excellence Awards

As a Chamber member, we would like to offer you the opportunity to participate in the 63rd Annual First Citizens Banquet & Business Excellence Awards on Friday, January 18, 2019.

We hope you plan to attend the banquet, which will be held in the Rivers Event Center at Wildhorse Resort & Casino.  We are inviting all Chamber member businesses to join in the evening’s festivities by decorating a table.  This year’s event will have the theme of: "Black & White and Pendleton All Over"
 

Event Sponsorship

Be an event sponsor for $1000
 
You will receive top marketing benefits, which include:
  • Name and Logo on marketing materials for the Event*
  • Name and Logo during the Event on multimedia displays
  • Two (2) tickets to the event.
  • Three (3) minutes microphone time at the beginning of the Event.
  • Option to purchase an additional eight (8) seats for $45 each to complete a full table at the event.
  • Option to decorate a dining table (fee waived).
  • Option to provide a special door prize to be drawn for at the beginning of the Event
  • Option to merchandise a Marketing Table at the Event (fee waived).
  • Option to donate raffle item valued at a minimum of $40
*Event Sponsorship commitments received by Monday, October 29, 2018 will include your business name and/or logo on the printed invitations that are mailed to all Pendleton Chamber of Commerce Members and Past First Citizens.

Table Decorators


Why Decorate a Table?
  • Create a lasting image of your business to all banquet attendees.
  • This is the community’s most prestigious event and the perception of your business is enhanced by participating.

  • All the attendees enjoy taking home their gifts and remember their table decorator long after the event is over.

What is expected of a Table Decorator? 
  • Using provided tablecloths, napkins, dinnerware, wine, and water glasses, each table is decorated to promote your business or organization. (Please plan on a 36” to 40” decoration area, leaving room for place settings.)  Please do not bring your own wine glasses; Wildhorse Resort & Casino will provide them for each place setting.
  • Each table seats 10. Individual place setting gifts are appropriate, and we encourage you to use this opportunity for small marketing and promotional items from your business. 
  • Your centerpiece, with a value of at least $25, is a gift which will be awarded to a lucky winner chosen from each table.
  • Pictures from previous years’ tables are available at the Chamber office to stimulate your creativity.
  • Decorating fee per table is $40, with early responses receiving a discounted rate of $25. Instead of paying the fee, you can contribute of gift or gift basket with a value of $40 for the raffle.
What do I do Next?

To decorate a table at Pendleton’s most prestigious event and showcase your business to over 400 community leaders, please complete and return the registration form to the Chamber or contact the Chamber staff at (541) 276-7411 or email us at info@pendletonchamber.com.

Please remember, only 45 tables are available for decoration, so reserve yours now and receive your Early Response Discount by December 1, 2018.  Please Note: Decorating a table does not include tickets to the banquet. You will need to purchase those separately when ticket sales open.
 

Marketing Table


Marketing Tables are available for $100.  Bring a display for a 6’ table in Cayuse Hall (the bar & raffle area).  Only four (4) available! Please complete and return the registration form to the Chamber or contact the Chamber staff at (541) 276-7411 or email us at info@pendletonchamber.com.  

Award Nominations


Nominations are open for the following categories: Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Business of the Year, Employee of the Year, Boss of the Year, Tourism Excellence Award, Customer Service Excellence Award.
