Topiary Quilt pattern by Sarah Nunes of Berry Barn Designs as seen in the Hawthorne Threads newsletter #topiarquilt #htbasics #greenery
Hawthorne Threads featured my Topiary Quilt pattern in a recent edition of their newsletter. (Psst... if you don't subscribe to them, you really should. Gorgeous fabric photo collages abound!) The pattern comes in five sizes, and I just added info for a sixth on my Pattern Extras page, where you can find useful tips and downloads that make creating your BBD design even easier.

City Loft Fusion
Around Town
Urban Artifacts
Neverland fabric by Jill Howarth
Fabric crushes: [1] I'm *loving* the City Loft Fusion collection with all its rich purples, and since it's from Art Gallery Fabrics, you just know it has a fabulous hand. [2] I'm a sucker for dandelion prints. (This Around Town line from Andover also has some neat geometrics, too!) [3] And I'm intrigued by all the texture & depth in the new Urban Artifacts collection. [4] Sarah Fielke's Wordplay will be a must for text print fanatics!

Quilt crushes: Iva's version of the #berninamedaillonqal is stunning (and just look at the quilting detail of the one she's longarming for Andrea!). Sharon Fraser's newest pattern "Plus Infinity" is positively beautiful. And I'm in awe of the detail & patience required to have made Frances Dowell's "Sit In" modern applique quilt. Finally, another stunning quilt from Daisy Aschehoug - I just love her quilt style!

My studio [sort of] moved this month. My very ambitious cats upped their sewing room mayhem game and succeeded in taking down my design wall, which was the last straw (after chewing heads off pins, unraveling spools of thread, and destroying yards and yards of batting). We swapped a few rooms around and I now have one with a door! Unfortunately, life has been a whirlwind and while my tools are safe from marauding felines, the new work space is barely set up. Soon!

Once resettled, my to do list includes a mini submission for the new Curated Quilts magazine, finishing the #rosetriparoundquilt, an entry for the Michael Miller Our Yard Fabric Challenge (check out what these MQGers have whipped up already!)
, and two new designs of my own. This is going to be a busy autumn!

Last month I asked if you had a favorite illustrator who's inspired your quilting, and Nancy offered Pamela Dalton, whose intricate cut-paper illustrations brim with applique ideas. Then just a few days later I spotted Katie from The Crafting Shell's IG story about The Tiny King by Taro Miuro and had to smile - I'd just pulled it off the shelf to pour over the bold, bright images that scream modern quilts!

Happy sewing & creating!
P.S. I did it again... the ol' set-it-and-forget-it. So I was quite surprised when a pre-ordered package of Alison Glass' new fabric appeared on my doorstep. My forgetfulness is your good fortune because I'm sharing the wealth, and today's the last day to enter!
