Merry Christmas, friends! 2020 may have been a serious turkey, but this season has been rewarding for us at City Lights -- feeling the love and support of our community has lifted our spirits and given me some serious repetitive strain injuries popping so much popcorn.
The fact is, we have much to be thankful for, and we recognize that among the many businesses and non-profits hit hard by this year's events, we see our survival as part of a much broader effort by others to save the soul of our community. So we'd like to start giving again--spread the corn, so to speak. We're going to have our staff spend Christmas with their loved ones, but Saturday the 26th we're going to be back at it and we will be donating all proceeds from our Curbside Popcorn sales to FRAA.
FRAA, aka Florence Regional Arts Alliance, has a unique mission: to unify and support all the arts, enrich cultural life and stimulate economic vitality in the Florence area. This is important work, from offering classes to supporting artists through gallery sales and far more than I can relay here. Check out their website for more info. Please help FRAA by stopping by and purchasing popcorn or other treats Saturday, December 26, 4-7 pm. Checks made out to FRAA will also be accepted.
We'll announce the final tally in next week's email--give generously! We still have plenty of virtual offerings for your holiday viewing--check out our titles here. We'll have some exciting news on the virtual front coming soon: a unified platform that will make it much easier for you to rent films. Also long-awaited for us, Alex is putting the finishing touches on a brand new and très sexy website which we hope to unveil next week.
Finally, we are getting very close to wrapping up our GoFundMe campaign -- help us meet the $12k challenge, all dollars raised will be matched dollar for dollar.
Have a fantastic holiday--last minute gift ideas are below. Take good care of yourselves.
