Canadian Heritage Budget 2021
The Government of Canada committed $1.9 billion to help support the recovery and reopening of the arts, culture and heritage. This funding will be provided over the next five years through the following Funds:
The Recovery Fund for Arts, Culture, Heritage and Sport Sectors that will provide $300 million over two years. It will be administered by existing Canadian Heritage programs as well as programs delivered by the Canada Council for the Arts and Telefilm Canada.
The Reopening Fund that will provide $200 million over two years through existing programs to support Canada’s festivals, cultural events, heritage celebrations, local museums, and more. It will be delivered by Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts and Telefilm Canada.

Empowering managers in small not-for-profit arts organizations
IMAA, in partnership with ARCA is proud to launch The Silver Guide to Non-Monetary Transactions, a digital, interactive resource designed to assist managers in small not-for-profit arts organizations document and account for in-kind exchanges and donations of goods and services (non-monetary transactions).
The guide provides the basic rules and methods for documenting, assessing and accounting for the many informal transactions that occur during regular and event-based programming in small organizations.

Recognizing artist-run centres

Nominations for the 2021 Lacey Prize are now open. Established in 2019, the Lacey Prize recognizes the activities and impact of small organizations and artist-run spaces in Canada. Every two years, a cash prize of $50,000 is awarded to a first-place winner, and cash prizes of $20,000 are awarded to two runners-up.
Nominations will be accepted until 6 pm EST on Monday, August 30, 2021, and an independent jury will oversee the selection process.
