Coldest Night of the Year

Our Coldest Night of the Year Walk was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without such strong support from so many members of our community. We have way too many people to thank to be able to list them here, but please know that we appreciate everything that every one of you did. Whether you sponsored the event, volunteered, captained a team, walked, donated, or even just spread the word on social media or by word of mouth, thank you! An incredible amount of work is involved in an event like this, and we truly couldn’t do it without each and every one of you.

It will be a little while until we have an official final tally, but we are confident that we surpassed our goal of $55,000 – no small feat for a community of our size! Over the next couple of weeks we will be honoring our top earning teams with our First and Second place trophies.

Photos from the event will be shared on the Coldest Night of the Year website, as well as on our Facebook page.

If you were registered to walk but couldn’t make it and would still like to get your Coldest Night of the Year Toque, please email and I will make sure that you get one!

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who had a part in making this year's Coldest Night of the Year a success!

We were lucky enough to have some great local media coverage of the walk:

The Gathering Place Garden

Even though there is still snow outside, planning is already underway for the 2017 garden season! Stay tuned for updates on volunteer opportunities and programs that we will be running in the garden. We are also very excited to be able to host meals in the garden again this year.
Just a reminder that you can now sign up for volunteer shifts online at our page!

We ask that you limit yourself to one or two shift per week so that all of our volunteers have an opportunity to sign up, as we have many volunteers who would like to have the opportunity to help out.

Please try to check the site on a regular basis, as shifts open up as people cancel or reschedule.

If you are unable to make it to your shift, please give us as much notice as possible so that we can fill your spot. Don't forget to give up the shift on so that others have the opportunity to take it.

If you are interested in volunteering and are not already on our volunteer email list, please contact Joanne in our front office.
