We want your input on new playground equipment

Thursday, March 10, 6:30 - 7:00 pm
MGG School

Prior to our AGM, the Playground Committee will be seeking resident feedback on the equipment options for our new playground. We would love your input (and that of your children)! Stay for the AGM where we'll unveil our proposed playground site design, based on initial consultations with residents. Your opinions are welcome! We'll also provide a fundraising and timeline update.

Accepting playground donations at AGM

We are getting incredibly close to our fundraising target. Every penny we can raise in the next few months may make the difference as to whether we can potentially proceed with construction this summer or next.

We will be accepting donations prior to the AGM on March 10. Donations over $20 will be eligible for a tax receipt. Thanks for your support.

Babysitter Meet & Greet

We’re looking for local babysitters interested in participating in a community-sponsored “Meet & Greet” with parents seeking your services. (Dates TBA)

Think of it as “speed dating” with potential customers, so they can meet you – and you can share your experience and tell them what makes you such an awesome sitter.

If you’d like to participate email GCL Program Director, Melissa.

Griesbach Community Gardens Registration

March 10, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm, MGG School

March 22, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, MGG School

There will be two dates for current members of Griesbach Community Gardens to renew their plots and pay 2016 fees. A few plots may come available. If you are interested in getting on the waiting list, please call Bob Fraser at 780.456.0671. First priority will be given to Griesbach residents.

Spring Fling 2016: Achy Breaky Fundraiser

Saturday, May 7, 2016, 7 pm
Crown & Anchor Pub
15277 Castledowns Rd.

On the heels of last year's 80's themed event, this year our community social and fundraiser is going country – circa Esmeralda's in the '90s. It'll be a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. Dust off your boots and practice up on your line dancing for this dress-up barn burner. All proceeds go toward the Griesbach Maple Leaf Playground.

Tickets available at our AGM on March 10th.

• Silent Auction • Liquor Basket • Food and Drink Specials • Music by Sweet Potato • Dress Western (mullet optional)

With so many residents taking advantage of the part time Green Shack program last summer, the city has awarded our community a full-time SUMMER GREENSHACK, running Monday through Friday (start up dates and times to follow). The Green Shack program provides supervised activities for children aged 6-12, and is a big hit with kids and parents.

Plus we've been selected for a YEAR ROUND GREEN SHACK for the first time, which will run between April 26 and May 21. It will run two days/week plus Saturdays. Details to be confirmed.

Summer Blockbuster

We're looking into the possibility of hosting an outdoor, big screen movie night this summer. Stay tuned.
Golfers: GCL's Programs Director is planning to host one or more "Nine & Dine" events this summer. A great chance to "whack 'n' snack" with your neighbours. Details to follow.
